When you were born, you took my spot as the baby—and I didn’t know how to feel about it. But as the years went on, you became my little headstrong baby. Everyone already knew: if something went left with you, call your big sis—and of course, I came running every time. You grew into young adulthood and became my best friend, my kids’ “Mama Auntie Pooh,” and so much more.

You waited for this day for a long time, babygirl. A lot of people don’t know the half of what you’ve dealt with—being away from home, so far from family—but you hung in there and saw it through. For every time you wanted to give up and come home, I hope today, and every day after, proves that the journey you went through to get here was worth it.These years have not only expanded your book smarts, but taught you so many life lessons. I am one proud big sister, and I love you so much.
