Today’s SCOTUS ruling on trans athletes in sports was never just about sports. This decision lays the framework for further discrimination against trans folks, and casts doubt over our coverage under the Equal Protection Clause.And all of it was coordinated by a slurry of far right organizations, well funded and deeply intertwined, dead-set on a opposition influence campaign to create trans people as an undesirable “other” in American society. CHOC, ran by their parent company Rady’s, has capitulated to federal threats and is terminating their gender affirming care program as of 2/6/26. Rady’s has suggested they don’t have a choice - we disagree.There are ongoing legal efforts to stop or delay the implementation of federal threats (to cut funding to hospitals that provide GAC) - threats that won’t be implemented until April or May on even the worst timeline.We are asking CHOC/Rady’s to stand with us, to not comply in advance, and to protect their patients in the face of state violence.Visit bit.ly/radysopenletter to sign on to the open letter asking them to honor their oaths. This morning in Santa Ana, one of our dear @hb.aid friends, Julz, was arrested in Santa Ana to the shock of everyone who knows her. Why? She was quietly observing ICE vehicles and someone decided that this sweet older woman in her homemade knit cap was an easy target to bully. Santa Ana PD came and arrested her for “vandalism” despite multiple eyewitness testimony to the contrary. Now she’s being held at the Santa Ana Jail, with with most of us wondering why Santa Ana PD is doing ICE’s intimidation dirty work.We need your help to get her out and get the charges dropped. Our representative gave public comment at the Huntington Beach city council meeting last night in response to Butch Twining cussing out protesters at the regularly scheduled Sunday protest at City Hall.Butch made a minor, caveat filled apology upon the dais, mingled with misinformation about the protesters and a claim that the protesters wished him death - a claim that has no evidence and is not supported by eyewitnesses, nor by the ample video footage of the interaction in which his offensive speech was made.Regardless of party, we feel that such behavior is highly inappropriate to come from an elected official towards their constituents.#localpoliticsmatter #localpolitics by @prideatthepier

Last night at a City Council meeting, Butch Twining claimed that a protestor “wished him death” in my video. He also claimed that we were “screaming at him while blowing whistles and going crazy.” Here’s another angle that I have reframed (from the same video clip), that refutes his claims.
