In case it's not clear, Saturday October 3 is our PRIDE Community Protest & Parade. First to march are our Center Co-Executive Directors @vanitydeterville and #rayedooley as our Grand Marshals, leading nearly 100 groups in the Parade. And we are on, rain or shine!

Check out our maps to understand the Parade route, figure out where you want to park, and how to utilize our accessibility accommodations, including spaces for rest, relief, and emergency support.

And don't forget -- pull up for our post-PRIDE Parade pizza party at EK Powe. We'll have @piepushers as well as popcorn thanks to the principal and the PTA. We told you -- this program is brought to you by the letter P, period!

Last but certainly not least, please remember: ALWAYS FORWARD, NEVER STRAIGHT! HAPPY PRIDE, Y'ALL! by @pridedurhamnc

DURHAM PRIDE IS ALL YEAR! At Durham Food Hall, we raise a glass to the pioneers who helped build our community through shared spaces and ideas crafted within them. We’ve partnered with the LGBTQ Center of Durham for a daily beverage series starting this Sunday and honoring Durham’s rich queer history.

$2 from every featured cocktail or mocktail ordered goes directly to supporting the Center’s vital community work!

Swipe through to see the daily features and the history behind them:

❤️ SUNDAY (9/27) — The Pauli Murray Paloma
Honoring the Durham-raised legal scholar and writer whose groundbreaking work shaped civil rights and gender equality law.

🧡 MONDAY (9/28) — The ’81 March Mule
A nod to “Our Day Out,” North Carolina’s very first official statewide gay and lesbian rights march that began and ended right at Five Points.

💛 TUESDAY (9/29) — The Wittman 75
Named for gay liberation pioneer Carl Wittman, who moved to Durham in 1981 and built crucial community health advocacy and organizing networks.

💚 WEDNESDAY (9/30) — The Feminary Gimlet
Inspired by Feminary (1969–1982), a Southern feminist journal from the Durham–Chapel Hill area that circulated queer literature and ideas nationwide.

💙 THURSDAY (10/01) — The Blueberry Hill Collins
A tribute to one of Durham’s earliest explicitly gay bars—a vital physical safe haven where people gathered, organized, and found each other.

🔵 FRIDAY (10/02) — The Outsouth Bramble
Celebrating the OUTSOUTH Queer Film Festival (est. 1995) hosted at the Carolina Theatre, a massive cultural anchor for the Southeast.

💜 SATURDAY (10/03) — The LGBTQ Center Royale
Honoring the LGBTQ Center of Durham itself. Our city’s essential hub for resources, connection, and the beautiful reason we are giving back!

Come through, learn our history, and drink for a cause!

Which daily feature are you stopping by for?

(Note: This series is an independent tribute to Durham’s queer history.)

Big news, y'all! We've raised more than $30K for our community campaign! This is the anchor of our fundraising efforts for Pride: Durham, NC, and we're incredibly grateful for every dollar that's been given so far.
🩵
Our goal is to raise $50K by the end of Durham Pride Week, and guess what... we've secured a new Durham donor who will give $10K once we make it to $40K, ensuring that we reach our goal!
🩷
If you can make a donation this month, please give as you're able! And if you can't, that's okay -- please invite someone else who's got it to give it! The link is in our linktree, and the shavings are making the pile!
