creative week… so this week I shared the stage with a serious collective of bold thinkers, storytellers, and industry shapers at the first ever, Spark Talks Open House at @weareafricatravel

the challenge… to inspire and spark curiosity!

the theme… Wild With Purpose - deliberately leaning into friction that asks out hospitality industry to confront questions of power, pricing, narrative control, conservation finance, innovation risk, and burnout.

my provocation… what if Africa is not behind the AI curve… but ahead of it?

I leaned in the idea that whilst the world rushes toward automation, efficiency and artificial intelligence, perhaps Africa’s greatest advantage is the one thing technology cannot replicate: human connection.

Across 54 countries, countless cultures and languages, we still lead with warmth, intuition, community and feeling. We still know our neighbours. We still greet people with presence. We still solve problems with ingenuity, creativity and heart.

AI should support humanity - not replace it.

The future will not only need intelligence. It will need empathy, connection, Ubuntu, Botho, Utu, Hunhu, Omolúàbí, Igwebuike…

So whatever you do in your AI enablement endeavours, just don’t automate the soul…

the feeling…honestly, 5 minutes of pure passion!

I’m not sure who put together the band but WE COOKED 🥺🥰! Casey, Alex, Seth, Pierre, Sarah with your esteemed guide, Mpho 🧡

… when I catch my breath I’ll share more about the masterclass as well. taken in Cape Town, South Africa by @pridemm

Lion in the clouds… ☁️

I’ve been thinking a lot about the energy for this year… a bit of confident lioness motion… a lot of appreciation for beauty… feelings of being grounded in the soil yet dreaming in the clouds… taking every opportunity to offer generosity and care… just being real… gentleness… ease… playfulness… and maybe a little mischief , as usual 😏 taken in Singita Serengeti House, Grumeti by @pridemm
