Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rose Theater🎺
Securing a seat for the sold-out Catherine Rusell concert celebrating her 70th birthday milestone—with the legendary Cyndi Lauper as a special guest—was a true blessing.

The pre-show marching band completely lit up the lobby, turning the entire entrance into an absolute celebration.
Once inside, the performance was so deeply riveting and powerful that it felt like being transported straight to the 1920s through the 1960s. She sang just about everything from everybody, completely commanding the stage like the jazz royalty she is.

My mind was so transfixed and locked into the nostalgia that the true gift was staying fully present in a space of pure artistry right until the very end as they sang "Time After Time."

The Anthony Hervey Quintet—led by the phenomenal trumpeter who also shared the main stage with Catherine Russell all evening—started the night with an explosive, New Orleans-style swing in the lobby before taking the stage.

Once they got the lobby pre-party started and William Hill III struck his first notes on the piano, I headed straight for the edge of the stage, sat right down, and turned on the camera to focus on his piece. His signature commands a lane entirely its own, leaving absolutely no need to ask any questions. Afterward, I had to tell him that his style is impossible to forget, recognizing that distinct sound instantly from an intimate jazz club in Manhattan where he plays.

Tonight’s @spilata.tv birthday bash celebration at the David Rubenstein Atrium was completely electrifying. The entire space was wall-to-wall packed, breathing room only, with everyone on their feet as we danced the night away, eating cake, drinking champagne, and celebrating.
His band absolutely tore it up, and his dynamic wardrobe changes kept the energy at an all-time high throughout the entire night.

What a beautiful thing to hear @spilata.tv slowing down the tempo and singing this beautiful song on his birthday. Luckily I was able to zip across that packed room just to capture this brilliant piano performance. Hearing his voice along with the sound of those keys, I undeniably heard the style of the man I call the god of the piano, @dannimmer I had no doubt that this pianist knew him, and @addisonfrei confirmed it right after the set, sharing that Dan had been his teacher at Juilliard. What a true musical present from the night.
It is very rare that I follow piano players as I only follow two, but tonight, I let him know he became the third.

Jazz at Lincoln Center | Rose Theater🎺

Securing a seat for the sold-out Shuffle Along concert for the Legacies of San Juan Hill Festival was a true blessing. The performance was completely stunning, with vibrant choreography, a beautiful stage design, and driving rhythms that kept the audience fully locked in.
Running into the legendary @andre_deshields @etiennejazz after the show was a delightful surprise. Etienne is one of my favorite jazz players, easily the best-dressed male celebrity out there, and always so exceptionally warm and friendly.
The night ended perfectly peaceful, loving, and filled with so much joy and friendliness. I am just so happy I was able to experience it.

The long-anticipated wait for Macbeth at the Metropolitan Opera finally came to an end on Tuesday, September 22nd, and it was a masterclass in high-fashion grandeur.
Outside on the grand plaza, the atmosphere was completely electric as thousands gathered under the New York sky for this spectacular premiere. The attire was pure poetry, filled with the visual magic of sweeping capes, elegant hats, and luxurious silks that captured the light with every movement. Every dramatic drape and stunning silhouette added to the breathtaking elegance of the evening. It was a magnificent celebration of style and culture where the attendees truly became the art.
