my brother has a big birthday today and we are 6,000 miles away from each other. I was trying to explain to the “yay, now you get to go to London more!” crowd how it felt to have him move, and it’s almost impossible, but imagine your left arm up and leaves and then you’re like oh my gosh I can’t live without this arm, but technically I can. And it’s also setting up its own beautiful brilliant life with its beautiful brilliant partner @janiekorn and you see it every few months and pretend you wouldn’t commit a crime to keep it with you. I would say I’m so proud of @itspunit but that would be taking ownership of his accomplishments, which are all his— so I will just say I love him more than I love my own life, and I thank him for the mounds of incredible happiness he has provided that have shaped me. How lucky we have been. See you soon (not soon enough), I am counting down the seconds. by @primattoo

My grandparents’ house. I look at this picture and miss it, but also miss all of the summers I dreamed of having but didn’t get to have there. All of the summers my children won’t have there. Maybe that’s why we keep dragging the kids everywhere from Tokyo to crete, as though to say “look, we have the rest of the world!” But it’s not quite the same. taken in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir by @primattoo
