One of the best moments of my life.. I remember like it was yesterday, a caring loving mom @anitagibsonfilmz reached out to me for her son @thetysonetienne for basketball training. At the time I was only training Pros never really kids, I came back to jersey and we setup a session which was 2 hours from where they lived. Not only were they on time but they arrived early and here walked in this little chubby kid who was ready to work! Ty wasn’t athletic, couldn’t dribble that well but could shoot it and was extremely focused and was great at listening. I asked him what’s his WHY and he told me, Immediately I knew this kid wants it and willing to work for it. I came from training high level players so I knew what it takes to make it and I told him this shit not easy and you have to be MENTALLY TOUGH. The journey started with US, me, Ty, mom dukes, pops, we was all in it together to try help Tyson achieve his goals and it was all LOVE. I was tough as hell on Tyson and at times he hated me but I knew I had to give that tough love to prepare him for life ahead so he could face adversity and keep striving. We spent many days working anywhere! I used to drive hour plus to go train him up 24 hour fitness at 5 am before school, we’d work outside, indoor of his apartment with no hoop still get work in i thoroughly enjoyed the process. This kid was driven and ALWAYS worked hard on his own at the time I didn’t know how much of a blessing I had in front of me but now I know and I’m grateful. I watched this young kid GROW on the court from a pup who was raw to a highly skilled, athletic (40”
Inch vertical) one step at a time I ranked to ranked and achieve each personal goal 1 by 1 faced every adversity still get striving!!! It’s truly inspiring and I’m so happy I get to experience such a GREAT HUMAN. Ty is more than a basketball player, he’s extremely knowledgeable, smart, creative, loving, and humble. Anyone who experiences time with him get impacted. IM SO PROUD OF YOU, you did it my Youngin!! I always believed in you and rooted for you and LOVE you like family you’re LEGENDARY already it’s dope to see your story as it’s continuing. Keep going “A JOURNEY SELDOM SEE”
