Today, we lay to rest a young king—Wayne—a 3 year cyclist of @primeability , a brother, a son, a light in our community. His smile was magnetic, his energy contagious, and his love for bikes was unmatched. Wayne wasn’t just a cyclist; he was a force, pushing through every challenge with heart, strength, and determination. This video is a moment in time—a memory from our trip to New York last May for the TD Bank @bikenewyork 5 Boro Tour. It was Wayne’s first time in New York, his first time staying in a five-star hotel, and you could see the joy in his eyes. He soaked in every second, every ride, every experience. He belonged there, in that moment, feeling the greatness he was destined for. @tdbank_us chose our team to be part of a documentary, capturing the voices and stories of five DC boys chasing something bigger than their circumstances. Wayne was one of them. And though this documentary will tell his story, we wish more than anything that he was still here to see it. We are devastated. Another young Black boy, full of promise, taken from us too soon by gun violence, something our program fights so desperately to prevent. He deserved more. He deserved to grow, to ride, to live. But we will not let his name fade. We will carry him with us on every ride, in every race, in every push to create safer streets and better opportunities for our youth. This is just a glimpse of the person Wayne truly was—a kid from DC with a heart bigger than the city itself. A rider who uplifted those around him. A spirit that can never be replaced. Rest easy, Wayne. Your wheels will never stop spinning in our hearts. #FrontWheelUpForever 🕊️ 🎥: @endeavorfilms.vision by @primeability
We just having fun and riding bikes. #bikebus by @primeability
The highlight of my month. Teaching is so fun. We took some @unapologeticallydunbar bike technology students over to Hart middle school for some peer to peer teaching on bike anatomy as they kick off their @outride riding for focus program! Those kids over at @hartmsdcps are some fast learners! It’s all about exposure. It’s bigger than bikes. #stayprime #morekidsonbikes #lesskidsonthestreets by @primeability

The work never ends. Every day through @primeability, I get to see what happens when a young person is given an opportunity, a mentor, and a bicycle. A bike isn’t just transportation—it’s freedom. It’s confidence. It’s community. It can change the direction of a life. But every child deserves that opportunity, no matter where they live. That’s why this October I’ll be running the 2026 @chimarathon with @worldbicyclerelief. Every mile I run is for the belief that bicycles have the power to create access—to education, healthcare, opportunity, and a brighter future for young people around the world. Your donation doesn’t just support my marathon. It helps bring life-changing bicycles and programs to communities that need them most, empowering organizations to create the same kind of impact we’re building through @primeability. It takes a village. I hope you’ll join mine. ❤️🚴🏾🏃🏾‍♂️ Link in bio to donate. YEAR 7. LET’S GO. Prime Ability is more than a cycling team—it’s a family. We ride together, race together, learn together, and push each other to become stronger athletes and even better people. Every time a young person clips into one of our rides, they’re choosing discipline over distractions, community over the streets, and purpose over pressure. Whether you’ve never touched a bike or you’re chasing podiums, there’s a place for you here. You’ll build confidence, make lifelong friendships, travel across the region, and be part of something bigger than yourself. Year 7 in the Maryland NICA League starts now, and we can’t wait to welcome the next generation of riders. 🚴🏾 First Practice: Monday, August 10th | 6:00–8:00 PM 📍 Dunbar High School Ready to ride? 🔗 Link in bio to register, send us a dm or visit www.stayprimeability.com. 📸 @teewitdacam #StayPrime #MoreKidsOnBikes #MICL #MarylandNICA #YouthCycling by @primeability
Maybe we can rethink what it means to break boundaries. I grew up watching people shake the gravity off their bikes in the 90’s. Now I want to watch this same sport continue to expand its definition of pushing limits off the trail. #mtb #mountainbiking #ridemoreworryless Pc: @jowoodphoto by @primeability
Stay humble on your journey… Five weeks ago, I took a leap of faith and came to Mexico City with no real plan—just a desire to grow, challenge myself, and discover something new about myself. As I train for the Chicago Marathon, I kept hearing, “If you really want to train, you have to run at Chapultepec.” That’s how I found @activo_chapultepec . Chapultepec is the heart of Mexico City—one of the greatest parks in the world, where thousands of people come together every day chasing a common goal: becoming better. The only problem? Your boy didn’t speak Spanish. 😂 Then I met @paulinagutz . She took the time to hear my story, learn about the work I do leading @primeability , and welcomed me with open arms. These custom sneakers are beautiful, but they’re really just a symbol of something much bigger. Throughout this summer, complete strangers welcomed me, encouraged me, and made me feel like family. They reminded me that kindness and genuine human connection don’t require a common language. Thank you, @activo_chapultepec , for becoming my home away from home. Thank you to the incredible running community here in CDMX for pushing and challenging me all summer, And thank you, @paulinagutz , for this incredible gift and for reminding me how powerful simple acts of kindness can be. Next stop: Chicago. 🇺🇸 I’ll be running the @chimarathon with @worldbicyclerelief to help provide bicycles that create access to education, healthcare, and opportunity for young people around the world. If you’d like to support the mission, the donation link is in my bio. More posts coming soon… CDMX, thank you 🇲🇽❤️ Long live Wayne 🕊️ #stayprime #morekidsonbikes #lesskidsonthestreets by @primeability
Sometimes the work is a bike ride. But sometimes, it’s just creating space… Space for our young men to slow down, breathe, meditate and have real conversations about life, pressure, manhood and who they want to become. Much love to @samdelgadoreports and @51stnews for capturing this story, @groundeddc, @filletmignon and @ddanuelle for creating the space, and @patrickwalkerreese for traveling from Nashville, TN to pour into our young men from @unapologeticallydunbar, @primeability and @hartmsdcps This is the work. And we’ll keep showing up. ________________________________________ For full article, Click the link in bio. For our final Bike Bus of the school year, we teamed up with DC MPD for an unforgettable ride. 🚲🚔 Our students had the opportunity to ride alongside officers, tour the 1st District station, learn about careers within MPD, and even try on the uniforms (that was definitely a highlight 😂). Moments like these remind us why we do this work. Bikes continue to be a powerful tool for building community, creating connections, and showing our young people that they truly have a village around them. Huge thanks to @dcpolicedept for making this experience possible. Looking forward to more collaboration this fall. #StayPrime #BikeBus #MoreKidsOnBikes by @primeability
