Read fast. The mustache has places to be.

My client likes his mustache to pop. I use layered contrast to fade the sides, shave away the beard, and line up the hair under his chin to define the jawline, keeping the mustache and triangle the focal point. It’s softer than just the mustache by itself and photographs well.

God has a way of placing you in the right rooms at the right time.

Grateful to @booksybiz for inviting me to spend the evening in Brooklyn with so many successful and talented barbers, stylists and creatives. The energy was genuine no egos, just people with a lot of gratitude connecting and celebrating the craft together.

Of course, I had to bring my barber brother @ilkerkaplanonline along for the experience. We showed up representing Chaps, dressed for the occasion, and left even more inspired than we arrived.

As an Italian American barber, having @davinesofficial be part of the night made it feel even closer to home. 🇮🇹

Destiny has a funny way of bringing people back together.

Ali and I met outside (my apartment at the time) in SoHo over a year ago. I was outside on the phone. He was there with his family new to America. We talked, and I told him that if he ever decided to cut his hair, I’d love to be the one to do it.

Fast forward to today…

After years of holding onto his hair through one of the hardest chapters of his life, he walked into my chair ready for a fresh start.
