A few months ago I decided to try growing a tomato plant indoors.

Now I’m propagating herbs in water, hand-pollinating flowers with a tiny paintbrush, timing grow lights, mixing fertilizer schedules, and checking on my plants before I’ve even had my coffee.

My kitchen garden currently includes tomatoes, strawberries, jalapeños, basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, dill, celery, radishes, scallions, chives and whatever new project I’ve convinced myself I need this week.

Living in Brooklyn means I don’t exactly have acres of land, so grow lights have become my sunshine, windowsills have become garden beds, and every available surface has become real estate.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a tiny cutting, rooting it in water, potting it up, and eventually harvesting something you’ve grown yourself.

I’m still learning as I go (and making plenty of mistakes), but watching the first tomato ripen, the first strawberry form, or a propagated cutting push out new growth never gets old.

Who knew my flower obsession would eventually turn into a produce obsession too? 🌱🍅🍓🌶️ taken in Brooklyn, New York by @primroseny

I love hosting. I love the social part, the food, and of course creating a beautiful table. But I never want my tablescape to feel the same every week. I love switching up the colors, the mood, and the entire vibe depending on the meal and season.

That’s why I love using @yomtov.settings It lets me create a completely different look every single time without having to buy or store endless sets of dishes.

For this table, I went with a soft green and white palette with embroidered birds on the linen tablecloth, and everything came together so beautifully. The plates, utensils, napkins, and cups completely elevated the entire table and made it feel so high-end and put together.

And honestly, the best part? Once the meal is over, everything gets thrown out. No dishes, no cleanup, no storing anything away. It gives the look and feel of a luxury tablescape while still being effortless. 🤍🤍

Join me as I make matbucha!🍅

Hosting Shavuos while also being a florist is definitely not for the weak 🙈 Between all the flower Shavuos prep and trying to get everything ready in time at home, I’ve been doing as much prep ahead as possible so future me can survive the Yom tov chaos 😅

So far I’ve made and frozen raw kibbeh, chicken soup, some desserts, braided challah dough (before the rise!), and now this rich, slow-cooked matbucha ❤️ My house currently smells like garlic, tomatoes, and roasted peppers and honestly… I’m not mad about it!

And I have to say, the BEST matbucha recipe and truly the only one I’ll use is from Sina Mizrahi’s Good Food cookbook. Every single recipe is incredible and I cannot recommend it enough!! @sinamizrahi taken in Brooklyn, New York by @primroseny

Peonies have one of the sweetest little relationships in nature 🌸🐜

When peonies are growing in the ground, ants are naturally attracted to the sugary nectar coating the buds. As they feed on the sugar, they help the petals loosen and unfurl open.

Once peonies are cut, you can mimic that process yourself, just place them in very warm water and watch the magic happen ✨ The warmth melts the natural sugars on the petals and encourages the blooms to open beautifully.
