(writing is more than a hobby to me atp but I don't want to delete that line coz it sounds like what a real content creator would say LOL)

I've been told that my current block is the last period before I "won't have time for a life anymore" when musculo starts. but oh well, I'll try my best to balance it all! I am so blessed that I got to choose my struggles.

also I AM SO EXCITED to get back to revising AHR. IACT first draft progress has been so slow but i'm forgiving myself because it's been a rough few weeks

happy oct 2nd everybody!

sorry for being away for so long (the musculoskeletal system is torture and i'm pretty sure i'll have to retake the exam) but still! this post is a bit personal but it's smth that has rly affected the last four years of my life, and it's a story i want to share because every now and then, i think about how i might have never chosen medicine if i hadn't gone through what i did.

writing led me to medicine, and at the same time, it continues to be my medicine. i've been going through a stretch without motivation recently but yea i'm incredibly grateful for this life.

sometimes i find myself thinking 'if that never happened to me, would i be better off right now?' - but also, i quickly realize, that if it never happened to me, i might not even be HERE, with all my current blessings and lessons learned, right now.

so i can't even bring myself to regret even THAT anymore. by @primsutchiewcharn

yeah you read that right! i keep seeing posts like this (despite already being in med school) except they’re all from the exceptional people who actually got in, and you know what? i’m not ashamed that i got waitlisted. so here’s me sharing my stats, because mediocre people exist too (they’re probably just less likely to post on the internet)

people naturally compare themselves - it’s a survival mechanism. and i feel like being on bookstagram / authorgram, i’m always comparing myself to others too - the ones getting agented, the ones with tons of books and readers. i’m not posting this for comparison. i just thought it might help someone who wants to see a more average person on the internet today.

And the thing is, just like no matter how high of a score you get, you still might get waitlisted; the same rules apply for aspiring authors. You might have the most amazing manuscript ever, but the particular agent you queried at a particular time just might not be a good fit. It’s tough because past a certain point, it’s out of your control, so all you can do is brush off the rejection and keep trying 🥳🥳 by @primsutchiewcharn

this post genuinely took me 3.5 hours of pure focus to make 😭

The Alex Rider series crossed my mind out of the blue (my mom was watching some spy movie) and once I had the idea for this post, it was over.

I started by scrolling through my 300 reviewed books in goodreads (nostalgic. hence, you will see a lot more YA than I currently read) and hovering over each blurb to see the main characters' names. then I added it to my list.

disclaimer: I haven't read every book featured here (hopefully someday I will) ~ I ended up relying on the internet to add some extras (there's about 1-2 books per name that I had to outsource lol)

😍If people like this post, I'll continue with some more names. My list is still waiting. Tom/Tommy is next. Juliette too.

Fun fact about me: I love Google Sheets and I use it for everything in my daily life (workout tracking, retrospective timetable, life timetable, all types of habit trackers) and of course I use it for writing too! This one's the word count tracking template which I find helps me stay motivated and see progress!

When I found out that NaNoWriMo was discontinued, I simply had no choice but to make my own template. So here it is! Free and unsponsored I guess. I just want to help fellow writers 😭 NaNoWriMo my love </3 you will be forever missed
