Did you know that cows were not just animals in ancient Rwanda🛖??

In ancient Rwandan society, a cow was far more than livestock, it was the ultimate symbol of wealth, status, and identity.
Your herd defined your place in society, served as the currency for marriage dowries.

Cows were so deeply revered that shepherds sang poetry to them, and Rwanda's traditional Umushayayo dance was created to mimic the majestic grace of their horns. Even today, the highest blessing you can give someone in Kinyarwanda like "Gira amashyo"
