Base was home this year, which felt fated in some way as I gear up for where 2026 will take me. I realized I live in the gray of many things, but that dichotomy is what makes me human, that life is coexisting truths and that to live is to experience both good and bad. I met so many new friends but lost a bestfriend, won the ticket war for Jon Bellion but almost got in a fight in NYC, went viral a few times but ended up on the news, crossed off a snowboarding trick but tore my arm, and opened myself up to new connections which honestly only solidified the things that I didn’t want, while simultaneously proving to me that the kind of love I yearn for does exist. The past couple years focused on looking inward, self discovery, finding my truth, but this year felt like I was actually living in it. I let go and let God, then everything came into alignment that it actually scared me lol. I’m scheming for the future, don’t get me wrong, I’m just no longer anxious and controlling of the outcome. I know it will all work out and it will fall into place as it is written. It’s the tail end of this cycle that I can practically taste these new beginnings and it smells like Closer by The Chainsmokers. 28 years on this earth and I’m still learning, but every year I grow to be more grateful for this wild and precious life. For my family, my friends and especially for those who have my live location, thank you for being my guardian angels on earth. And James who’s my literal guardian angel and holding it down up there 💚 thanks homes.

Thankful for you, dear reader for being here and following along on my journey and showing up for my random posts and weird videos 💛 I appreciate the love.

⚠️ UPDATE IN COMMENTS ⚠️

am I overreacting?

I arrived at Karst Mountain before sunset after driving 3 hours through the island of Palawan. It was a magnificent sight, who wouldn’t want to stop?

2 men were already there admiring the view and I made small talk with them as they really took an interest on my bike. I’m a friendly person, I always think the best of people, so when they asked about my plans and where I was going, I didn’t hesitate to tell them.

When you’re solo travelling, you’re meeting people left and right and I’ve gotten so used to making friends this way that I didn’t think twice about it.

But then they asked where I was staying for the night. I told them I was going to camp at the beach (which wasn’t a lie)

Then they asked how much the bike was and suddenly the saxophones started getting louder.

To an average man, I feel like this would’ve been a normal, harmless situation. Just two bros interested in your plans and admiring your ride, right?

But to a woman, this means I am 1 vs 5 (because 3 others showed up), a thousand scenarios are flipping through my head and I’m simultaneously planning an escape while putting a smile on my face.

I stopped recording, vowed to come back tomorrow, said goodbye and rode away. I could still feel their eyes on me.

I stayed at a homestay that night. Taking all my belongings, double locking the bike, and hiding it behind some bushes.

I ran into one of the guys again as I was getting dinner, stayed friendly with a quick smile and went on my way.

The bike was safe throughout the night and I was able to go back to Karst Mountain for sunrise.

To this day I still don’t know if they were honestly just being friendly or if they really did have ill intentions. I hate immediately assuming the worst of people.

But that is mine and every other girl’s reality of travelling solo. We often have to make risk assessments with incomplete information.

Was I overreacting? Maybe. But every woman who has ever ignored a bad feeling and regretted it thought she might be overreacting too.
