It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since we finished up our home reno! What started as a simple deck replacement during Covid lockdown quickly spun out of control into a whole house renovation. Our 6 month timeline stretched to nearly 2.5 years thanks to permitting issues and a host of other delays. We planned to move out for 2-3 months during the heaviest part of the reno, but ran out of money and had to move back into our VERY gutted house when things got backed up. We lived in one bedroom with a microwave and one burner portable stove and one partial bathroom for a long time. There were many times when we were at our wit’s end. Decision fatigue set in. We felt overwhelmed. But, luckily, we had a vision and an amazing contractor willing to go along with our crazy ideas. So 2(ish) years later, we’re spilling the beans on what we love and what we would have done differently.

Would you try these? Hit me up with questions!

We only get one life to live folks! Put the things in your house that make your life easier. That’s the entire message. A pedal you tap with your foot, a slope that drains right, a sink you clean with dish soap. You spend a little money and get back time, water, and sanity.

Loving my kitchen sink! It’s the little things that make a kitchen feel luxurious. 🤍

This sink feature saves me time, keeps the kitchen looking cleaner, and makes everyday life just a little easier.

Everyone notices the marble... I’m over here geeking out over the sink. 😂

Between the @kohler fixtures, the @principlefaucets foot pedal, and a few surprisingly great @amazon finds, these are the little upgrades that make this kitchen work so much better every day. 🤍

One of my favorite kitchen upgrades isn’t just the marble... it’s ALWAYS the function. 🤍

From @kohler fixtures throughout the kitchen to @principlefaucets hands-free faucet system that makes everyday life easier, every detail was chosen with purpose. Beautiful design should work just as hard as you do.

Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d start a faucet company.✨✨✨

But we saw a huge need, noticed a gap in the industry, and believed we had the answer to correct it. Choosing to start Principle Faucets began to feel like destiny—we couldn’t help but start climbing.

Happy Earth Day!🌎

This day always reminds us of why we got started. 💦💙

This is one of those things I’ve shared before and something I will never regret adding to our kitchen.

We’ve had a @principlefaucets STEP pedal in our main house for a year now, so adding one to the 1830 cottage was an easy decision.

Hands-free, easier to clean, and something you’ll use all the time.

They’re currently having a Spring sale (25% off through the end of the month) if you’ve been considering it.

We’ve shared this before, but still one of our favorite upgrades. Link is in our bio + stories if you want to see it.

Faucets have never been designed with water savings in mind,
so we set out to correct that mistake when we started @principlefaucets.

We saw a huge opportunity to minimize water waste at the sink since the big guys in the industry weren’t doing anything about it.
That’s right, I’m talking about you @kohler @deltafaucet @moeninc, where were you on that one???

It’s a pretty important issue.💧

The thing is, water savings at the sink is dependent on our behavior at the sink. Those moments when the water is running but we don’t actually need it…have you ever really noticed?

It’s totally ok if you haven’t. We’re so deeply rooted in our habits, in our routines. That’s the way we’ve washed dishes for forever really. Plus the way faucets are designed, it’s just too inefficient, too inconvenient to constantly adjust by hand.

So we designed a better way to use water at the sink.

This foot pedal is going to change the game.
