What a stellar event and exciting leap forward for our nonprofit!

We brought live printmaking to The Hellbender II, and you all showed up ready to support!

Together, we raised $2,495 for STL nonprofits, with $623.75 (25%) going back to the Goellner Center’s mission to protect the Missouri Ozark Hellbender Salamander.

A HUGE THANK YOU to @thehellbenderstl team for welcoming Printing 4 A Purpose into their benefit concert for the second time and for giving us the opportunity to make some art, meet some great people, and put our mission into practice. @offbroadwaystl was an incredible host to all and we are so grateful they trusted us to print for a purpose in their space.

This is why we exist: sustainable printmaking, community connection, and grassroots fundraising that supports the organizations and events that make St. Louis special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, bought a print, wore our merch, or just came over to see what we were doing. You, our community, are who we exist to serve and it meant so much to feel your support.

This Friday, August 28th, Printing 4 A Purpose will be supporting the Hellbender Benefit Concert for the second year in a row, this time with live printmaking!!

A quarter of money raised from bandana and T-shirt sales (we’ll be live printing the first design in this post) will go directly to the Goellner Center for Hellbender Conservation, the sole organization helping to protect the Missouri native Ozark Hellbender Salamander!

We can’t wait to sell our fundraising merchandise ONE WEEK FROM TODAY at the @shopgoldengems Made With Pride Market at @cityfoundrystl !!!

We’ll be debuting multiple new mission-focused items which will benefit causes such as hellbender conservation, STL biking infrastructure, and mycology education.

Thank you so much for your support this Give STL Day!

With your help, we were able to raise just over a thousand dollars to build and launch this nonprofit, more than doubling our original fundraising goal!

What began as an effort to cover our early setup costs and filing fees quickly became something bigger: a reminder of how many people believe in the power of community-centered, sustainable printmaking to bring grassroots funding and awareness to our civil sector.

These donations will help us officially pursue tax-exempt status, build and launch a website, and continue our development of community printmaking programming here in St. Louis. We can’t wait to get to work on these things!

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, encouraged this project, or simply followed along thus far: thank you for helping to build this organization at such an early stage. Your support is what keeps us grounded in our community.

Tomorrow, Printing 4 A Purpose will participate in Give STL Day for the first time.

Right now, the biggest goal is raising enough funds to file for 501(c)(3) status and continue building the foundation for the organization. The first $275 raised will go directly toward our 1023-EZ filing fee, with additional support helping fund website/domain setup, materials for future events, and other early infrastructure needs.

This organization is still very new, and honestly, that can make asking for support feel a little intimidating. But over the past few months, I’ve seen how much people genuinely connect with printmaking, sustainability, and the idea of using creative work to support community organizations. I believe in this mission and hope you do too! If you’ve followed along, shared a post, stopped by our booth, or encouraged this project in any way already- thank you. It means a lot to me and has already helped make a positive impact in our community.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing updates throughout the day as we work toward a fundraising goal of $500. If you’d like to invest into this organization and help build this with us, donations of any size truly make a big difference right now!

Eco-friendly merch just in time for Earth Day? @Findkindstl is so excited to drop a line of eco-friendly shirts, zip-ups, tanks, and sweatshirts in partnership with @printing4apurpose.

Printing 4 A Purpose is a local nonprofit raising grassroots funding and awareness for nonprofits through the art of printmaking. They are making it possible for STL nonprofits to get cool swag without taking on risk or leaving behind a big footprint.

All merchandise starts as second-hand blanks pulled from thrift stores and Goodwill bins. The blanks are screen-printed on and get to live a second life, one with purpose… maybe in your closet!

To snag your Find Kind merch, visit Find Kind’s booth at the Forest Park Earth Day Festival this weekend from 11 AM - 5 PM on the Muny Grounds. We’ll be in the Social Justice circle with other awesome nonprofits like @perennialstl and @2nd.hend by @printing4apurpose

“We are all in this together” feels especially true this Earth Day.

This shirt was printed on an upcycled blank rather than something new, a small choice that reflects how I’m trying to approach printmaking sustainably through Printing 4 A Purpose.

A lot of traditional print processes can be resource-heavy, so part of this work is figuring out how to create in ways that reuse what already exists, reduce unnecessary waste, and find sustainable alternatives. It’s not perfect, but it’s something I’m continuing to learn and build on.

Earth Day is a good time to reflect on how even small shifts in how we make things can add up over time, especially when we share these practices with others. I hope you join us in the challenge to take better care of Mother Earth this year!

Printing 4 A Purpose is officially an incorporated nonprofit in the state of Missouri!

What started as an instrument for my graduate research has officially been recognized as a legal entity. Wow! This milestone will give our organization exciting new abilities and will quickly begin opening new doors for community partnership and service.
