I’ve taken very few pictures of myself these past few months but I have taken candid pictures of the world, through my eyes: a bird settling over her eggs in a quite corner of the corridor, the sun, picturesque buildings
And in that time I’ve also worked at consistently sharing my thoughts on Substack, which has been fulfilling in every way I expected it to, and then some
And then I got to paint as well. Not abstract art like I’m used to but silhouette, requiring much more time, focus & skill.
All these have been life-affirming. That I’m here & I’m present in the moment. But most of all, my life in Christ has flourished so beautifully. I thank God that He is good. by @priscillabansah_

I FINALLY started a blog!

the crazy thing is that the friend I first spoke to about wanting to start one back in high school is the same friend I ended up sending my first two posts to… nothing like a full circle moment

I overthink a lot, I sometimes can’t sleep because there’s a new concept I saw in a book that I need to research about so my mind can be at rest, I look up random stuff on google because I want to understand why that random Tiktoker said it in their video, I read a lot, I sometimes pause in the middle of a sentence to get the definition of a word before continuing, and I listen to podcasts while doing the dishes at the end of the day :-)

when I created my Substack account, a post popped up from another creator that said people who overthink should write more and people who underthink should read more. I read a lot but my drive is just to know more of the world I’m living in. I guess the post was my ‘sign’ because starting this blog was to help me share my thoughts as they come. and it’s been a good release

I designed 2 tote bags yesterday and got a headache right after. here’s an excerpt of what I journaled:

to make art is to be like God because that’s essentially what He did in the creation
and I am grateful to be able to sit down 2 or 3 times a week, create designs for people I’ll probably never meet, & exhibit God’s nature in the process🤎 by @priscillabansah_

I resisted the urge to type out this caption elsewhere and edit it to my satisfaction before I posted...

This photo is a reflection of my posture today: I'm looking at the year we're just about leaving behind like a landscape spread before me. All the colors and sights and shapes and sounds come together in perfect harmony just the way God intended them to be

And for what my heart yearns to say, someone else said it better centuries ago:
Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet
