PRISON AFFAIR!! Kings of EGGPUNK! For the FIRST TIME in Italy!Barcelona’s Prison Affair sit right at the centre of what’s loosely being called egg punk, one of its sharpest and most recognisable voices, pushing a strain of punk that feels young, unstable and completely uninterested in playing by inherited rules.Active since around 2018, their sound is built from wiry, synthesized guitar lines, blunt bass, drum machine rigidity and vocals that wobble just on the edge of collapse. It’s minimal, repetitive, slightly fried, but always locked into something oddly infectious.There’s a thread of rock’n’roll running through it, though it’s been bent out of shape and fed through a lo-fi circuit until it comes back as something twitchy and unpredictable.
