For all my cuticle reduction students, here is what water combing and dip detangling look like. In hair processing, its imperative to detangle after every treatment. I've just bleached this hair from black to level 6. by @pristinepostiche

One week to go… and I can finally show you my finished consultation room! Now that more wigs have arrived to fill the wig wall, it’s starting to feel so real 🥹

I am obsessed - every time I open the door I fall in love all over again. My biggest hope is that when you walk in, you feel safe, seen and at home… because I know how vulnerable this moment can be. But fair warning: if you cry, I probably will too 😅

To celebrate launching, as well as the initial 10% discount, the first five people who purchase a wig during an in-person consultation will receive a FREE copy of Jason Archer’s Wig Life book. I adore this book and honestly believe every wig wearer should own it.

The book can also be purchased from me in person, on my website or via the link on @pristinepostiche bio.

⏳ One week left!
The website will go live with products at 3pm on Sunday 16th November.

In-person consultations will be available after this date - just drop me a message if you’d like to book an appointment.

You’ve still got one week to register on the website for:
✔️ 10% off your first order
✔️ A lifetime 5% discount after that

It’s all go go go - and I can’t wait to welcome you in 🥰

Wig care is one of the biggest factors in how long your piece lasts. Everyone develops their own technique, but after lots of trial and error (and learning from the brilliant @pristinepostiche in his #WigLife book), I’ve put together the most important do’s and don’ts when washing your wig.

🚫 Don’ts
• Don’t run the top of your wig directly under a tap. This can cause hair strands to push through to the inside of the cap. Once that happens, the only fix is to cut them out which is essentially shedding.
• Don’t submerge the entire wig in water. This loosens knots (especially single knots) and eventually leads to shedding.
• Don’t apply conditioner on or near the knots. It weakens the knots and shortens the wig’s life.
• Don’t use hot water. Heat opens the cuticle, weakens knots and leaves hair drier and more prone to tangling. Stick to lukewarm or cool water.
• Don’t scrub, rub or twist the hair. It creates tangling and friction damage.
• Don’t leave your wig damp inside the cap. This can cause swelling at the knots.

✅ Do’s
• Use a high-quality, hydrating, sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner. Save clarifying shampoos for the occasional product build up!
• Wet and rinse the wig using a jug of water with the wig turned inside out and held by the crown.
• Work shampoo and conditioner gently through the hair. Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb - no harsh brushing.
• Add hydration either a leave-in conditioner or hair oil.
• Pat dry with a towel - don’t rub. This avoids friction damage.
• Blow dry the inside of the cap first. This prevents root swelling and helps keep knots secure.
• Let the hair air dry on a wig stand. It keeps the shape intact and avoids heat damage.
• Consider sealing the knots. Once dry, a light spray of knot sealer or strong hairspray on the inside of the cap adds extra protection.

Jason from WigLife also recommends using spray bottles with diluted shampoo or conditioner to apply product evenly without oversaturating the knots!

Jason’s book is a must-have and I’ll be stocking it alongside my wigs and some of you may even get a copy free with your first in-person consultation purchase. 🫶🏻

This book deserves a bit of free promo every week. I often talk to my bff who is in the medical field and I sent her a picture of this book by fellow wigmaker @pristinepostiche. I told her that he also works at a hospital. I pulled it off my bookshelf so that I could read a bit more on “Glueless” lace front wigs.

Of course “ear to ear” lace front wigs may be created from scratch or customized to fit…but the lace outside of the circumference area of the wig foundation still needs a bit of security in order to make it “glueless”.

Most people want Glueless lace front wigs with lace that extends from ear to ear” but you need tiny enhancements called wig stays or flexible ear tabs to adhere the lace to the front of your ears (sides of your face). This is just one scenario to a glueless wig as he also talked about how cutting your lace can impact the fit of the wig.

There’s plenty of chapters here and many good gems 💎 If you have clientele that wears wigs, this book will definitely improve your communication and knowledge as you educate your clients. Thanks again Jason @pristinepostiche. by @pristinepostiche
