Would you believe this dreamiest steam train ride starts from a tiny lakeside village in Switzerland? 🇨🇭

Welcome to Brienz, a postcard-perfect village tucked beside Lake Brienz in the Bernese Overland🤩 Just a 1.5 hour train ride from Interlaken or Lucern, Brienz is the gateway to one of the most enchanting rail journeys🤩😱

🇨🇭From the Brienz station, it’s just a 2 minute walk to board the Brienz Rothorn Bahn-Switzerland’s oldest steam powered cogwheel railway🤩 🫶

🚞 This vintage red steam train climbs from Brienz (566m) all the way up to Rothorn Kulm (2,351m) in about 1 hour (each side), with jaw-dropping views of turquoise lakes, alpine forests, and 600+ mountain peaks along the way❤️😍

Ticket Prices:💸

-Round trip: CHF 96 (adult)
-With Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare Card: CHF 48
-Children (6-15): CHF 10
-Seat reservation: CHF 8 (recommended in high season)

🗓️ 2025 Operating season:

-To Planalo mid station: May 10-June 6
-To Rothorn Kulm summit: June 7- October 26

If you love Mont-Tremblant in fall but don’t love the crowds… put Mont SUTTON on your list 🍂🤩

We drove to Sutton for a fall-colour escape and honestly, it’s such a good alternative if you’re looking for a mountain day without the full-on Tremblant resort experience.🤩

📍Mount Sutton
🚗 From Montréal: roughly 1.5–2 hours by car, depending on traffic and where you’re starting from
🍁 Fall Festival: Sept 19–Oct 18, 2026
🎟️ Chairlift: $24/adult or $19 when purchased online at least a day ahead + tax
🚡 The chairlift takes you up to 680 m, where you can enjoy the lookout or continue hiking toward the 840 m summit
🥾 There are hiking options if you want more than just the viewpoint
🌲 There’s also a new Adventure Path at 680 m with interactive stations, viewpoints, suspension bridges and more
🧗 And if you’re feeling adventurous, the giant zipline is 1.4 km total and runs through the fall season🍁

So if you’re planning a Québec fall road trip and want somewhere different from the usual Tremblant stop… save this one. 🍂

If someone asked us what’s the easiest way to see Mont-Tremblant’s peak fall colours… we’d send them straight to the panoramic gondola 🍁🤩

You get to ride all the way up to the summit without the hike, and the views of the Laurentians, Lac Tremblant and all those red, orange and yellow trees are SO worth it.🫶🤩

🎟️Cost: from $33 CAD/adult for a round-trip gondola ticket in 2026 (taxes + fees extra).

Once you’re at the top, don’t just get back on the gondola — walk over to the 360° Observation Tower for even more views.🍁✨

If you’re visiting the French Riviera, don’t skip this prettiest little hilltop village 👀🇫🇷

‼️Most important tip: Take Bus 82 from Nice directly to Èze Village. It drops you right at the hilltop village, so you don’t have to take the train to Èze-sur-Mer and hike up. 🙌

🔔Here’s how we’d spend a day in Èze from Nice:

✨Once you arrive, just wander through the beautiful little cobblestone streets, explore the boutiques and stop at all the viewpoints along the way.🫶

🌵Jardin Exotique: Make your way to the top of the village for the Exotic Garden and those incredible Mediterranean views. This was definitely one of our favourite parts of Èze. 🌊 You can buy tickets online too!

☕️Take your time: Grab a coffee or lunch, wander around without a plan and just enjoy the village. Èze is small, so you really don’t need to rush through it.🤩

🥾Want to hike?
You can make the trip more adventurous by walking down the Nietzsche Path from Èze Village to Èze-sur-Mer.✨

🚆 From Èze-sur-Mer, you can then take the TER back to Nice.

For an easier day: Bus 82 up → explore Èze Village → Bus 82 back to Nice. 🫶
