I’m not suggesting that connection replaces professional help or that love alone can heal everything.
I’m asking whether we sometimes overlook what God has placed within ordinary people—and what becomes possible when we learn to offer it to one another.

Because perhaps we’ve been thinking about connection as simply being around people.

But you can sit beside someone for years and never really meet them.

The art of arguing to win, rather than to understand.

You know that moment when a conversation stops being about what happened and becomes about who can make the better argument?

When listening becomes preparing your rebuttal.
When admitting you’re wrong feels like losing.
When understanding the other person becomes less important than making sure they understand why you’re right?

Congratulations. The conversation has entered the Olympics. And apparently, you came for gold. 🥇

But here’s the uncomfortable bit.
You can be articulate and still be unreasonable.
You can have the better argument and still miss the point.
You can win the conversation and lose the connection.

And sometimes, the person you’re trying hardest to defeat isn’t even fighting you…They’re trying to reach you.
