Two-step on a turbo car is a launch control feature that lets you build boost while the car is stopped by holding the engine at a preset RPM when a button, clutch, or brake input is engaged. Instead of revving freely, the ECU cuts ignition or fuel in a controlled way, creating those rapid exhaust pulses (the popping/banging sound) that keep exhaust energy high and spin the turbo up. When you release the clutch or button, the limiter turns off and the car leaves the line already making boost, which massively improves consistency and reduces lag compared to launching from idle or a normal rev limiter. by @problemchildperformance
