As this month comes to an end i want to bring light to suicide and mental health awareness. Mental health is never talked about enough in the black community and it’s become a taboo subject to bring up when in conversation. From an early age we’ve been taught to be tough and to never show weakness as boys. But to be honest that does far more damage than good.

The picture above is one I always have a hard time looking at.. because it reminds me of a time in my life that I don’t like to revisit. When I was younger I always disliked taking pictures and would always refuse to be in any. You know that old saying “the eyes are a window into the soul ”. My eyes were pretty much empty back then.

I was about 13-14 in this picture and this was taken about a year and half after my suicide attempt. There were so many things happening during this time period that I could not comprehend or acknowledge and to be honest I didn’t understand why these things were happening to me.

“Why me?”. “What did I do wrong?”. “Why can’t I do anything right?”. “What’s wrong with me” is what I would constantly ask myself. It all became overwhelming. After the attempt I sought out help from my guidance counselor at school thinking I would get the help I needed; let’s just say that didn’t go over well once I got home from school. There wasn’t a guidebook I could grab from the library and read that provided a how-to when it came to something like this. So pushing through it was the only thing that made sense to me as an adolescent and over time things got better. But what I’m trying to say is it’s okay to not be okay and you should never feel embarrassed about it either. As cliché as it sounds - it does gets better 💯

This was the day that made them tap out 😂. Before we entered I emphasized to them that Central Park is BIG! And I think they thought I was joking 😅. I explained to them that even I never fully walked it yet and so we started our journey.

We were walking for about 2 hours and we weren’t even deep into the park yet 😂😂. They told me “aight can we leave now”. As we made our way back to the side we entered from we had to walk an additional hour and half. @theyluhchase kept complaining that he couldn’t feel his feet anymore and lil Aaron was too focused on not admitting defeat 😅. Maybe next time they’ll make it all the way through taken in Central Park, New York by @procheespoir

Dear Reena,

I want to start off by saying happy 25th 🤣birthday to such an amazing woman!

You know I always have to go back to this picture 🤣. This picture is almost 12 years old. I remember this day like it was yesterday. This Christmas party was the start of everything. We both got extremely intoxicated, and I remember us having the time of our lives. If someone was to say to us back then that fast forward to over a decade later we would still be friends. A part of me would believe it without a second doubt.

Over these last 12 years so many amazing things have happened! I’ve seen you experience the birth of having three beautiful children (🤣🤣 obviously I wasn’t in the delivery room). I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many beautiful people through you. I’ve experienced you purchase your first home! I’ve watched you walked down the aisle and get married! We’ve gone to New York countless of times, we’ve been to Maryland, we’ve been to the Dominican Republic, and we’ve been to Pennsylvania together. And still, we have so many more places to travel together.

I don’t think there is enough time in the world or enough years in the next lifetime to express how much you mean to me. Over the last decade we’ve laughed together, We’ve had many of drinks together, we’ve ate so much food together and yet it only feels like five minutes have gone by. You have always been firm in what you believe in and you’ve always been a protector and a provider for your family and no one can take that away from you!

I hope your day is as bright and beautiful as you are. I can’t wait to see you later and celebrate this special day with you. I wish you nothing but love and support and here’s to another 70 more years of being your friend 🥰🥰🥰 by @procheespoir

Nothing beats getting to experience New York City through the eyes of family. 🗽❤️

This trip was extra special because I had the chance to show my cousins around one of the most exciting cities in the world. From the bright lights of Times Square to the incredible skyline views, every corner of NYC had a story to tell. We spent our days exploring iconic landmarks, discovering hidden gems, taking way too many photos, and making memories that we’ll be talking about for years.

There’s something magical about sharing your favorite places with people you care about. Watching them see the city for the first time, hearing their reactions, and creating new experiences together reminded me why New York never loses its charm. The energy, the diversity, the culture, the food, and the endless adventures make every visit feel unique.

We laughed until our stomachs hurt, got lost a few times (well they got lost 🤣🤣) walked more miles than we can count, and made the most of every moment. These are the kinds of memories that stay with you long after the trip ends. Family, adventure, and a city that never sleeps—it doesn’t get much better than that.

Thankful for the time spent together, the memories we created, and the opportunity to share a place that means so much to me. Until the next time. ✨

As the school year comes to a close and the class of 2026 graduates I’d like to give a huge shout out to Kayden! Congratulations on graduating high school and completing this milestone 🎊👏 we are so proud of you.

@_alleyesonmeh @wil_jay_ and I have been talking about this achievement for so long and to see you walk across the stage was surreal. Your mom and step father have sacrificed so much for you and you may not fully understand why they said and did the those things..but just know one day it’ll all make sense to you.

As you step out into this world as a young man embrace the hardship and tribulations that come with it. Keep your head up high and never be afraid to ask for help. Always remember that someone is watching you even when you think no one is. Make smart choices/decisions and never fall into the crowd of doing what everyone else is doing becomes it’s a “trend” or it’s the new “cool” thing to do.
