One of my favorite photos of us. Happy Anniversary to the guy who has no social media account, which is why he's smarter than all of us.

He makes me laugh even when the house is falling apart and just when we're about to put it back together we get more sudden renovation news: the shower pans are leaking so we need 2 new showers! Yay! 🤪

16 years married.
26 together.
33 years since we first met.

Through broken backs, perimenopause, absolute chaos...whatever gets thrown at us we seem to be able to handle. Through good times and bad, we got this.

Dear God. What gives? We're good people, we're kind, thoughtful, sometimes we can be bitchy but...just when we think we're on the road to being done. Contractor came ouy to prep an estimate to put the kitchen back together. Great! The very next day I come down from taking a shower AND THERE'S WATER ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR. we have another leak people! I don't know if it's from the plumbing repair they already did or if it's new. Either way, I'm glad we found it before we put the ceiling back up. CAN WE CATCH A BREAK PLEASE? In other news, Friday we celebrate our anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US! 😝 by @prodmichelle

When someone you took a chance on, who, although they were young, you thought had the drive and determination to do it and in less than a year thought they knew it all, deserved more opportunity and failed to comprehend the basic 'earn your place' things you need to learn before advancing like: commitment, responsibility and dedication by proving that people could count on you by actually working regular shifts without constant excuses of why you couldn't...decides to take to social media and describe a conversation you had with them about ambition and longevity in the business and diminishes your accomplishments to a quote "Well I've been here for 30 years in one job and I'm happy" as the launching point for their 'I couldn't possibly do that, I have so much more ambition than that," It REALLY pisses me off and is just proof to me that they learned nothing.

What this person failed to recognize is the hard work and AMBITION that went into those 30+ years. It failed to recognize that what started as an unpaid internship, led to part-time job call screening, which led to part -time assistant producing, which led to full-time producing, which led to full-time Executive Producing, overseeing a staff of producers for a single show and then Executive Producer for an entire station. That's not 'I've been here for 30 years and I'm happy." That's 'I've been here for 30 years, worked damn hard and earned my way to the position I have."

Some can't see past their own inflated ego to understand that longevity in a job doesn't always mean someone has no ambition, 'settled,' or is scared to take a chance. Sometimes it means they took ALL the chances and had ALL the ambition. by @prodmichelle
