NEVER FORGET; Twenty-five years ago. I was in Tribeca that morning, with my five year old, trying to determine where it was safe to be. I remember the dust, the sirens, the sound of huge buildings collapsing, office supplies littered the streets, people crying and walking like zombies, the way the whole city went still, then stopped in utter sadness and fear. The ‘Missing’ signs posted everywhere.
New York City rebuilt in time. Not the same, but revised — bigger in some places, abandoned in others, scarred and stubborn and still itself.

Today I’m in Paris, an ocean and a lifetime away, and I still think about that insane morning every September, especially with cool blue skies. I will always be a New Yorker who bore witness to the loss, the grief, the anger; then healing. Some things you carry with you forever, no matter where you are.

THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL; for me, this was a bucket list hike. This trail is one of three in the ‘triple crown of hiking’; these include The Pacific Crest Trail, The Appalachian and finally The Continental Divide Trail. I cannot wait to take more hikes here, as well as to finish that triple crown. This area of Western Massachusetts in The Berkshires is gorgeous! CAPE COD; this extra long boardwalk at Town Neck Beach was built in 1875 over fragile salt marshes and a tidal creek.
