Just received this in the mail! One of my best friends, Julie Frederick Vaucresson, published a cookbook. Many of my friends know how much of a foodie I am and how I love to cook for friends and family. Quite honestly, outside of my mother, Julie’s cooking and tips have influenced how and what I serve my family every holiday.

I’ve known Julie since high school (we were in each other’s weddings), and when I left NOLA for graduate school, she gifted me a large binder of recipes and a food processor 😭, saying that the way to a man’s heart is through food. And damn, was she right! Ask Michael!

I tagged the photo with a link to her cookbook. If you want true New Orleans Creole cuisine, this is the cookbook for you. Her family’s recipes have always been the closest to what my mother cooked for us, providing a connection to the vibrant history of my childhood. This book is full of history, love, family, and amazing food!
