X-Caliber is a classic underground hip-hop group from the Lowell and Boston area, active since the mid-1990s and best known for their 1997 track “Butta Messenga” recorded at @wonkasoundrecordingstudio. The group’s vocal frontline features lead emcees @feetheevolutionist and @professorlyrical, alongside rappers Mark Altenweg (The Heat Miser) and Joey B, who helped solidify their underground reputation. The group’s signature sound was rounded out by producer Syntax, who crafted the “Butta Messenga” beat, and the turntablism of Def Rock. taken in 91.5FM WUML, Lowell by @professorlyrical
