i stay curious
the way the ocean does,
never forcing,
always listening.

i feel you
before you speak.
there is a temperature to attention.
yours is warm.

do not rush me.
some things open
only when watched slowly,
like flowers
that refuse urgency.

watch closely.
desire is not loud.
it hums.
it waits.
it learns your name
without asking.

be real.
not perfect.
not impressive.
just honest enough
to stay.

the moon entered shadow,
as royalty does,
without apology.

no thunder.
no spectacle.

only a deliberate dimming
that made the sky
lean closer.

there are departures
that bruise,

and there are departures
that polish.

tonight was the latter.

something unstitched itself
with elegance.

something unnamed
drew its first breath
in the hush that followed.

not ruin.
not rescue.

refinement.

the light returned altered,
coppered,
deeper,
aware of its own gravity.

some endings are not endings at all.
they are corrections
written in orbit.

and when the sky reopened,
it did not ask permission

my horse.
my wild one.
all that freedom in your chest.

i don’t chase you.
i climb closer.

mane in my fingers.
speed in my hips.
the kind of momentum that doesn’t ask permission.

they write novels about this feeling.
windswept cliffs.
wuthering hearts.
love that doesn’t end it deepens.

you know how to carry weight.
you know how to go faster
without losing control.

thick silence.
deeper breath.
that look you give when you already know what I want.

wild horses don’t belong to anyone.

i don’t respond to effort.
i respond to tension.

i am made of slow fire.
bare shoulders.
hips that remember rhythm.
a gaze that stays half a second too long.

desire find me before language does.

i let silence do most of the work.
i let proximity tell my story.

your body already knew.
that pause.
that pull.
that warmth blooming where you don’t admit it.

i don’t explain myself.
i let presence burn.

i don’t offer access.
i allow closeness.

brush past me.
feel brave enough to linger.

i will stay exactly where i am.

soft mouth.

so you went anyway.

that was the moment
i learned everything.

i learned that love should not require permission.
that my body is not a debate.
that silence is also a choice.

i did not break.
i closed a door.

i loved you honestly.
you loved me conditionally.

there is a difference.

i am not hard to hold.
i am sacred.
i am warm saltwater and backbone.
i am a woman who knows when to leave.

you didn’t abandon me.
you revealed yourself.

i am not living yet.

as preparation.

i wake with room in my chest.

already devoted.

there is a tenderness
that comes from holding love
with no place to put it.
from staying open
