Yesterday, on January 9, 2025, I learned the bitter news of the passing of my oldest uncle, my dad’s oldest brother, Robert Progri, from my sister. He passed away peacefully in his home in Tirana, Albania. As an uncle I have fond memories of him. He was always encouraging me 2 study, go 2 school. He & his wife, Hatixhe Progri, were always humorous towards me. I used 2 visit him often when I was studying @ the Tirana Polytechnic University from 1989 until 1994. He worked in the construction business as a director.
In the first photo which I believe was taken in summer of 1985 when we used 2 live in Korca, Albania, my uncle, Robert Progri, is in the far-left corner of the second row, next 2 my mother & behind my grandmother.
In the 2nd photo, is a photo of my uncle, Robert Progri, me @progriilir, my dad Fiqiri Progri @ the Rinas Airport, Tirana, Albania on August 20, 1995.
In the 3rd photo, is a photo of my uncle, Robert Progri, my 1st cousin Doloreza Progri, Rober’s Daughter, & my dad Fiqiri Progri @ the Rinas Airport, Tirana, Albania on August 20, 1995.
My uncle Robert Progri is survived by his 3 children, oldest daughter @irma.progri, youngest daughter, Doloreza Progri, & his youngest son, Eduart Progri.
May He Rest in Peace. My dad, Fiqiri Progri, made a painting of Ms. Elizabeth A, Demir, since she had done some many great things 4 me.

She even bought me this great book on investment.

"How to Make Money in the Stocks" A winning system in good times or bad written by William O'Neal, the Fonder of the Investor's Business Daily Newspaper.

Betsy taught me how 2 open my 1st checking account. Betsy let me rive her wagon. She took me 2 the very 1st tennis Tournament in Yale Bowl in New Haven, a @wta event.

In the beginning I absolutely did not understand the financial world.

After the passing of my cousin Dr. Peter Demir in September of 2015, 2 keep his & his brothers legacy as stock traders & investors, I started 2 take the investment more seriously. taken in New Haven, Connecticut by @progriilir

Since August of 1995, I learned a lot staying with my cousins.

My Day's 1st cousin, Dr. Peter Demir (deceased in 2015 from cancer) was an urologist & he also had a stock trading license.

His wife, Elizabeth Demir, was also involved in the trading decisions with him. In the morning, we used 2 read the "Wall Street Journal" & "The Investor's business Daily" newspapers.

His brother, Ramsey Demir, (deceased from cancer) also had his own trading license.

His daughter, my cousin, Kristen Demir, got her MBA from the Chicago University & she was working @ the time 4 AT&T.

I was very 4tunate 2 have learned so much from them. by @progriilir

@bfaxon @brysondechambeau @emmmacarpenter any explanation about this experiment?

Yesterday I gave myself a pitching, chipping, bunker, & putting lesson.

Today I played a practice round @greenhillgolfcourse.

I must say that all the elements of the short game I worked on yesterday workout out fabulously today.

Saved PAR on Hole 2 from the bunker. Made a birdy on Hole 3 using the modern pitching technique. Saved PAR on Hole 4 using again the modern pitching technique with a vertical shaft, toe-down.

However, the most amazing shot was an unlikely birdy on Hole 5: Driver, 5-iron, 1-put. Photos 5-7. This gave me so much confidence. I was always concerned with putting @ this golf course. But this lesson yesterday changed everything.

Having practiced @thejackniklaus @jackniklaus tip on driving, has been the best driving experience I ever had.

@bfaxon, @brysondechambeau any explanation about this experiment?

Today I also tried 2 different putting techniques: downhill & uphill putts:
Me: Which putts are likely 2 have the smaller dispersion uphill or downhill of equivalent distance & slope?

AI: Uphill putts are highly likely 2 have a smaller dispersion than downhill putts of equivalent distance & slope. Empirical golf data & physics testing labs like MyGolfSpy confirm that uphill putts yield superior proximity 2 the hole (tighter dispersion), higher conversion rates, & better strokes gained.

The physical & mechanical reasons 4 a tighter uphill dispersion include:

1.	Lower Sensitivity 2 Speed Variances: Uphill putts work against gravity & must be struck with a faster initial velocity. Because the ball slows down rapidly, variations in how hard you strike the ball result in much smaller differences in final distance. On a downhill putt, gravity amplifies any extra speed, meaning a minor strike error can send the ball sliding 10 2 20 feet past the hole.

2.	Significantly Less Break: An uphill putt reaches the hole faster, spending less total time rolling on the green. Because it is moving faster through the sloped areas, gravity has less time 2 pull it offline. A downhill putt takes nearly 2ce as long 2 cover the same distance, meaning the break often more than doubles. This massive break significantly increases lateral dispersion.

3.	Reduced Margin 4 Error: Large-breaking downhill putts require absolute precision in both target line & terminal velocity 2 "die" into the hole. Uphill putts have a much larger effective target window, making them much more 4giving of minor human errors in execution.

However, what found out today was really quite the opposite. I used 6 balls & 3 holes. 1 downhill hole & 2 uphill holes. The downhill putts were almost always inside 1-putter length & the uphill putts were almost always outside 1-putter length circle. How do you explain this?

Today I tried the 2 different pitching techniques: 1. the traditional Arnold Palmer-style open stance vs. 2. modern technique of utilizing a closer stance with a vertical shaft (or the toe-down). I used my SW & here are the results.

40-yard pitch shot, the modern technique of utilizing a closer stance with a vertical shaft (raising the toe 2 create a near 90-degree dynamic lie angle) is widely considered superior 2 the traditional Arnold Palmer-style open stance. While Palmer's open-stance, hands-4ward approach was legendary 4 slicing across the ball 2 add loft & spin, it introduces excessive hand action & timing dependencies, which can lead 2 unpredictable chunked or bladed shots on tight, modern turf. The traditional Arnold Palmer-style open stance is far more difficult & unpredictable.

In contrast, the modern technique—popularized by short-game coaches like Jason Dufner & Dan Grieve—stands closer 2 the ball 2 make the shaft vertical. This raises the heel slightly off the ground, neutralizes the clubface rotation, & allows the club’s built-in bounce 2 slide smoothly through the grass rather than digging. By removing excessive wrist hinge & utilizing a torso-driven, straight-arm movement, the modern vertical lie technique provides a much higher margin 4 error, producing exceptionally consistent distance control & a highly predictable launch from 40 yards out. The modern technique is far easier & predictable. taken in Cyprian Keyes Golf Club by @progriilir

Here some of the shots I hit during the practice round today 2 celebrate #ColumbusDay.

1. Hole 2: 530 Yards PAR 5. Hit an amazing approach shot with my lovely @Cobragolf #KingTech #Forged 6-iron.

2. Hole 4: 400 Yards PAR 4. Hit 2 amazing shots: 219-yard drive & 175-yard 5-iron shot on the green. This is a tough green 2 hit in regulation.

3. Hole 15: 460 yards PAR 4: Hit an amazing drive: The @garmingolf said 225-yard but it turned out 2 be 247-yard drive.

3. Hole 17: 380 yards, PAR 4: Hit an amazing 247-yard drive followed by an amazing 156-yaard approach shot with my lovely @Cobragolf #KingTech #Forged 9-iron.

4. Hole 18: 480 Yards, PAR 5: Hit an amazing 208-yard drive followed by an amazing 2nd shot with my lovely 3-Wood; finished with an amazing approach shot with my lovely @Cobragolf 48 deg-gap wedge.

The pace of play sucked today due 2 2 many recreational golfers on the course.

Here are a few photos from my round of golf on 9/17/2026. I was not able 2 show the birdy I made on Hole 15. The back 9 holes were in much worst conditions.

I could not believe how soft the conditions were. Well, this year I played golf in 4 states:

1. Massachusetts, @playmassgolf
2. Connecticut, @csgalinks
3. Rhode Island, @rigalinks
4. Florida, @fsga1913

I hope someday I get 2 play a round of golf with @emmmacarpenter who claims 2 be an awesome competitor & friend.

Do you accept the challenge @emmmacarpenter? Are you a real competitor & friend?

I would also like 3 give a shout out 2 the @usga @usopengolf.
