šŸŽ™ļøA podcast for the quarter-life crisis
✨Un podcast para la crisis de los 25 ✨
šŸ‘‡ Listen here // Escucha aquĆ šŸ‘‡
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

ENGLISH āž”ļø Project 25 - not to be confused with Project 2025- has officially reached 65 episodes, the ideal age for retirement. Thank you to all who supported me along the way by participating, telling your story, or by listening, recommending potential guests or even sharing the podcast with your people - I couldn’t have done it without you. šŸ„¹ā™„ļø

I created this project to deal with my own quarter-life-crisis, liberate my feelings of frustration but also to find hope. And it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done. Everyone’s stories remind me of how powerful we are.

As part of the final episode, I decided to take the microphone and talk about my experiences and what I’ve learned from my quarter-life crisis. Here’s my humble and unsolicited advice ā¬‡ļø

1. See, accept and value yourself as cool and imperfect human, not as a self-development project.

2. Whatever positive that you put out in the world, the universe and life will pay you back a hundred times over.

3. The universe is always on our side, even though sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. We might be struggling but maybe there’s something that we need to learn in order to grow and evolve.

4. Think about what your 7-year-old and 80-year-old selves would tell you.

5. Don’t be obsessed with the outcome of who you are supposed to be. Let life surprise you and let yourself surprise you too.

6. We are human beings that need to feel. That’s what makes us human. Feeling our emotions liberates us and allows us to connect with ourselves, with our spirit, our body, with people, animals, our creativity and the world around us.

I might sound like a tree-hugging-hippie, but I am a tree-hugging-hippie and I finally feel content and at peace with my journey. Like a lotus flower, I had to confront and overcome the mud in order to bloom. There’s still tons to learn but I’ll take it one day at time. I’m saying goodbye to the podcast but there’s more storytelling to come ✨

Thank you for being part of this journey! It’s been a pleasure to grow by your side.

āž”ļø ENGLISH: Patricia Villela Arenas, 57, is a mother, wife, and a lover of culture, travel, and of connecting with others. Throughout the years, she has made different parts of the world her home: Colombia, Mexico, Singapore, Ecuador and the United States. This is a little bit of her story:

šŸ¦‹ How was your life at 25?
At that age I had my first daughter, Alejandra, who was born in Singapore. Living in another continent with a different language forced me to adapt and to focus in improving my communication and learning the local language. I saw myself in a situation that I had never been before, and it was a big responsibility. I got through it, but it drained my energy. Ever since 25, I kept on developing the project of being a housewife and felt that things working out well depended on me.

🌼 What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
I had a dark episode in which I was disappointed with the role that I had taken. One tries to balance things out, but I felt as if I hadn’t done a good job. It was weird, but then comes a point where one says ā€œI’m no longer interested in a gold medal, now I want a peaceful life.ā€ And that’s okay. It’s important to do things with love - that’s how I always did it. Things won’t always work out, but at least you’ll know that you tried your best.

ā˜•ļø What’s your advice for today’s twenty-somethings?
Don’t fall for everything that’s going on with the modern world. Go outside, see and try things for yourself. Don’t get stuck with just one thing. Know that there’s always more to do and to learn. Also - don’t forget that if you want to help yourselves to recover from addiction or depression, first, you need to recognize that you have a problem. That’s the very first step.

āž”ļøENGLISH: Arturo Marc is a Venezuelan-Canadian composer and singer-songwriter who explores Venezuelan folk music and Caribbean rhythms like ska and reggae. At 25, Arturo dealt with depression while his music career sailed smoothly. Now, at 33, he shares his experiences navigating this contrast and what has changed in the last eight years.

šŸŽµCan you share about a time where you were successful? To me, my first solo musical work was a success. The numbers may not be in the millions, but as a product, as an artistic work, it made me very happy. I was able to connect and get out of my shell (because even though I’m very open, I’m also shy).

I was able to connect and work with C4 Trio, a Latin Grammy award-winning band from Venezuela, but also with people here, in the Calgary music industry. For me, that was an incredible experience. I used to experience imposter syndrome, but I was able to overcome it with this project. It made me very happy and I see it both as an artistic and personal success.

šŸŽ¶What’s your advice for today’s twenty-somethings?
It’s important to know yourself to achieve your goals. That’s important work in order to be well with yourself too. But at the same time, it’s okay if you don’t know yourself. I think that’s a life-long journey, so you can take your time.

Don’t feel pressured to know yourself and know what you like and how to do things right away…You don’t have to know everything, really. There’s beauty in trying to know yourself throughout your life, and you may never finish. But that’s okay, because you’re always changing. So, maybe try to romanticize the act of knowing yourself. It’s okay, take life as it comes.

Entonces fui poquito a poco y busqué ayuda.

ENGLISH āž”ļø Christina Pilarski is a mom of twin boys and CEO of her Calgary-based PR and marketing agency, CIPR Communications. She’s also the founder of Two Babies and a Business, which offers personal brand strategies and public relations workshops for professionals who want to stand out.

With nearly two decades of strategy experience she has assisted politicians, C-suite executives, business owners, and professionals develop personal brands and thrive through smart PR execution. Christina is known North America wide as an example of a successful entrepreneur and female founder.

šŸ–Šļø From when you were 25 to this day, what has changed?
I don’t necessarily believe in balance, but I believe in harmony. Some things are louder than others at certain times, and we make it work.

Becoming a mom has also been huge for me. And then I’d say probably this last year. My husband jokes that it’s probably my midlife crisis. Who knows? I’ve been reprioritizing.

I built this agency and I don’t take the time to kind of pat myself on the back enough and it’s running well – I’ve been branching out and trying to lean into my other organization, Two Babies and a Business, a bit more.

It’s becoming more of a visionary for my agency, moving on to see what’s next over here, but again,
I’ve learned that it’s okay to reinvent myself at the same time while trying to pat myself on the back. Since I don’t have that boss to say ā€œhere’s the gold starā€, I give myself a gold star.

šŸŒ€What’s your advice for the new generation of twenty-somethings?
We know that the world of work is going to be changing in the next 10 to 20 years, so the better you can build your own brand and really showcase your skill sets, the further you’ll go.

I think sometimes when we’re in our mid or early twenties, we may feel a little bit shy about shining the light too heavily on the great things we’ve done. And I’d say ā€œHey, just go for it.ā€ Who cares if your friend’s thinking you’re bragging or whatever? Just put it out there because you never know what opportunity will come.
