Today was a day of refurbing some crusty parts.

The LSD looks less like a part for a boat and more like a part for a car. The brakes were refurbed, removing the previous blue (wasn’t a fan) and opting for a more OEM look in silver.

Finally, the subframe was bought as new. But unfortunately suffered several chips in shipping. So I sanded it back and sprayed 4 coats of hammerite. It doesn’t look perfect, but hopefully should last a few years 🤞

And that’s it folks! The rear has finally been fully painted in the Rust Encapsulator!!

Top coat will happen next, but here’s a few pictures :)

Most of the rear is now stripped back and coated in Rust Encapsulator!

Not much more to do before the rear is completed! Aiming to have the rest of the rear section coated in RE by the end of the week.😎

Such a shame I’ll be painting over the RE, as the orange looks incredible!

P.s. Ignore my seam sealer abilities, I know it looks cr*p.

Lots done in the last 24 hours…

Old rotten rear valance was cut out and new one by @themx5restorer was welded in place. @buzzweldcoatings RE painted on as a primer, seam sealer on the weld lines and then finished in body colour enamel paint.

The rot under the wheel well was also cut out and new pieces welded in.

It doesn’t look amazing, but it’s now structurally sound and protected for years to come.

I’m finally in a good place to get the rest of the rest done and won’t be too long until we move to the mid section 👍

More progress…

The other side (rear), is finally getting a lick of paint. There is some welding that is being done on Monday, so I’ve left that patch unpainted (2nd pic), but it’s stripped back to bare metal.

Planning to drop the fuel tank tomorrow and finally tackle the rest of the rear. Slowly getting there 💪
