43.000+ kilometers, endless red dirt, and a heart completely full. 🇦🇺✨

From starting in Perth, heading up the wild West Coast to Exmouth and Karijini, crossing into the Northern Territory to stand before Uluru, tracing the East Coast all the way to the Daintree, and tackling the mighty Nullarbor back home... I still can’t quite believe I drove this entire map.

This lap of Australia wasn't just a road trip, it was a masterclass in resilience. It tested my strength, pushed my limits, and introduced me to places that take your breath away. Looking back at this, I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude for the road, the moments that challenged me, and the person I became along the way.

Australia, you have my whole heart 🦘❤️🥹 by @projectdeparture

📍As my journey through this incredible continent is almost coming to an end, I can’t help but feel grateful for everything it’s taught me. Australia has changed me, I learned how to slow down, to live with less and still feel like I have everything, and to choose every day who I want to be.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been the most amazing journey of my life! 🥹❤️

Two years ago I left behind everything I’d built to chase the unknown, a dream I couldn’t let go of and somehow it led me exactly where I needed.

Maybe the real destination isn’t a place on a map, but that quiet, deep feeling that fills your heart when you realise you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. 🌅✨

To new adventures to come…

Thanks for every single one of you who has been part of my journey ❤️ by @projectdeparture

📍This is me with my little Mitsubishi Delica L400 (aka Mitsu) in the middle of the most amazing trip of my life!
I didn’t come to Australia to escape, but to finally become who I was really meant to be.
Van life with Mitsu took me off the map and back to myself. Long roads, wild places, and the kind of freedom only a solo road trip through Australia can give you.
This trip has been a hell of journey that changed who I was forever ❤️

Some places almost don’t look real from above. 🤍

Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand... where impossibly white sand meets that shade of turquoise you think only exists in photos.

One of the most stunning beaches in Australia, and easily one of those places that makes you stop and think, how is this actually real? ✨

Memories that will last forever ❤️🇦🇺 by @projectdeparture

The happiness this little van is able to give me just cannot be expressed in words ❤️🚐

HOME SWEET HOME
The best one I’ve ever had 🥹 by @projectdeparture

📍Fraser Island (K’gari) isn’t just a trip… it’s a real adventure.
And to enjoy it properly, a little preparation makes all the difference 👇

🚐 How to get there
You’ll need to start from Inskip Point, near Rainbow Beach.
From there, you take the barge (ferry) that brings you directly from beach to beach onto the island.
💰 Cost: around 140 AUD per vehicle

🏝️ Island permit
K’gari is a national park, so you’ll need a vehicle permit to access the island.
💰 59.80 AUD valid for 1 month

⛺ Camping
– Basic national park campsites (no facilities): 7.25 AUD per night
– More equipped campsites can cost over 50–60 AUD per night

⚠️ Practical tips (trust me, these are important)
– Stock up before arriving: everything on the island is very expensive
– Diesel: plan your route carefully and bring enough fuel
(there are only two fuel stations — one at the resort and one in Eurong — and fuel costs almost triple compared to the mainland)
– Food: bring enough supplies for your entire stay
(there are only a couple of small shops on the island and prices are extremely high)
– Equipment: a compressor, recovery boards, and some sand driving experience are highly recommended
– If you’re inexperienced with sand driving, stop by the Visitor Centre for useful driving brochures and safety tips
– 🗺️ Very important: grab a physical map near Rainbow Beach or at the Fraser Visitor Centre before heading over
→ it shows campsites, routes, and most importantly the areas with phone reception
(otherwise, research reception areas online before your trip)
– Tides: ALWAYS check them 🌊
The beach highway stretches over 120 km, and many creeks become impassable during high tide
– Phone reception is limited → download offline maps and plan ahead

K’gari is freedom, but it also requires preparation and respect for nature.
And honestly… that’s exactly what makes it so special ✨

If you’re planning a trip there and have questions, feel free to ask 🫶 by @projectdeparture

8 days on K’gari (Fraser Island) with my 4x4 Mitsubishi Delica L400, Mitsu — and honestly, it became one of the best weeks of my entire trip in Australia. ❤️✨🚐

Driving along endless beaches, camping under the stars, swimming in crystal clear lakes, and waking up surrounded by pure wilderness. No schedules, no crowds, just the kind of freedom you only feel when you’re living on the road.

K’gari is the largest sand island in the world, and exploring it with your own 4x4 completely changes the experience. Every day felt like a new adventure.

Places like this remind me why I chose this life.

Sometimes the best moments happen when the road disappears and nature takes over.

Have you ever been to K’gari? by @projectdeparture

🇬🇧 Time isn’t infinite, but possibilities are. Don’t let your dreams gather dust in a drawer: travel to discover who you are, return to choose who you truly want to become. by @projectdeparture

Floating between two worlds ✨
Ears beneath the water, all I could hear was the gentle flow of the spring and the hundreds of flying foxes moving through the trees…

In that moment, everything felt still, wild, and deeply connected. Just me, the water, and nature breathing all around me 🤍 by @projectdeparture

There’s a whole life waiting on the other side of your fears.
Start thinking about what could go right…
because maybe, if you truly believe in it, it will. 🤍✨

Take that trip, start that project, express your love for someone because if you don’t there is about a 100% chance you’ll regret it in the future ❤️

And live to the fullest! Always. 🫂 by @projectdeparture
