Teresa Hui is the 2026 NYC Marathon Final Finisher! Long after many athletes and spectators have gone home, the @nycmarathon finish line stays open until the last participant crosses the finish. @projectfinishnyc organizes a party within the park, with music and dancing and lots of light-up paraphernalia to cheer the final finishers in, beginning at 8pm. At 10pm, the music ends, but the vibes remain. Many cheerers stuck around until the very final finisher crossed the line after midnight. This was @rubenbeaut 18th NYC Marathon! She started in Wave 1, just after 9am. When she crossed the halfway point, it looked a lot different than it had a couple hours before - pretty empty. She continued as day went to dark, roads opened up, and water stations were a thing of the past. And somehow when she crossed the line was able to make us laugh and drop the word “shlep.” Congrats Teresa! #projectfinish #centralpark #finalfinishers #nycmarathon #inspiration by @projectfinishnyc
Comment FINISH to get the link to the whole interview. 😍 After her first NYC Marathon in 2015, Stephanie Pennington noticed the crowds were gone by the time the final runners came through. So this mama did something about it. She started Project Finish, a crew of volunteers who stay late in Central Park to give the last finishers the cheers they deserve. That’s what moms do. We see who’s being left out, and we show up for each other. Moms helping strangers, all the way to the finish line. It’s the same spirit behind our Pump and Run Club. 🏃‍♀️🍼 Comment FINISH to get my full interview with this amazing mama, plus an invite to join our Pump and Run Club! 💛 Share with a mama who shows up for others even strangers! #PumpAndRunClub #NYCMarathon #RunningMom #MomsWhoRun by @projectfinishnyc

🚨Huge news!🚨 Recently I had the honor of speaking with @rozalynnfrazier for a piece that would include @projectfinishnyc in @runhermag ! WOW! 😭 #PROJECTFINISH is everyone and anyone that shows up to cheer on the final runners 🤍💙 We touched on how this movement started which led into me sharing my own experience being at the back. We’ve been gathering at the finish line together since 2016 and because of this, the @nycmarathon finish line changed forever and inspired cities around the world to do the same! It’s amazing! 🎉 You make up Project Finish. There’s not much to it… we wait to get into the park to show up for other people. It’s that simple! Keep up the good work. The world needs you! 🌟 If you have the opportunity to pick up RUNHER, please do! This magazine is incredibly inspiring 🤍 Thank you @ashleymateo for including Project Finish in @runhermag ! 💪🏻 #NYCMARATHON #TCSNYCMARATHON by @projectfinishnyc
