At the start of this year, @projectnolabels was honored with a once in a lifetime opportunity ✨ to compete in the world’s largest reality TV show competition for startups and entrepreneurs, 🌟 @betablox 🌟. Out of over 60,000 applications, only 100 participants were selected to take their vision to the next level. Of those 100, only three were nonprofits… and we were proud to be one of them 💪🏽🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️.

For five incredible days in Tulsa, Oklahoma 🌆 we stood alongside some of the most passionate, driven, and innovative minds in the country. Even though #ProjectNoLabels was already on a strong and promising path, being chosen for BetaBlox reaffirmed that we are exactly where we are meant to be. It reminded us that our mission matters and that we have the strength and vision to push even further 🚀.

The wisdom, mentorship, and honest feedback we received from the coaches, who were also our judges and potential investors, was invaluable 💡. The lessons learned were transformative, giving us not only new tools to grow but a renewed fire to fight for our cause with everything we have ❤️. The experience was nothing short of life-changing.

We are deeply grateful to @westonbergmann, @casscregg 🙌 and their team for creating such an extraordinary platform through BetaBlox that empowers entrepreneurs and startups to sharpen their vision, scale their mission, and make their dreams a reality. We cannot wait for the world to see our episode in Season 21 of #BetaBlox 🎥📺.

Today, The Big Gay Radio Show remembers and honors Matthew Wayne Shepard, who died on October 12th, 1998, at just 21 years old, following a brutal attack in Laramie, Wyoming. 🏳️‍🌈

Matthew’s murder became a defining moment in LGBTQIA+ history, bringing national attention to anti-LGBTQIA+ violence and the importance of hate crime protections.

28 years later, Matthew’s story remains an important reminder of the violence and discrimination our community has faced, and why we must continue sharing and preserving LGBTQIA+ history.

We’re excited to announce that @florida_turtle and @esmerussell61 will be hosting @thegaymazing.race on Sunday, November 8th, plus we have a discount code for your registration!

Grab your favorite teammate and get ready to race through #yborcity, following mystery clues, visiting local businesses, and completing challenges that will put your teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills to the test!

And don’t worry, you don’t have to be an athlete to participate. Just bring a teammate, a sense of adventure, and be ready to have some fun!

The race kicks off at @7thandgrove, with the first wave starting at 9:30 AM and the second at 10 AM. Teams will check in beforehand at @1920yborcity, which will also serve as the event’s headquarters and host a family-friendly Vendor Village with local businesses and activities for the kids.

After the race, stick around for a post-race celebration at 7th + Grove, featuring a live DJ and an optional $45 brunch buffet with a mimosa or mocktail! Brunch reservations should be made by November 1st.

We’re looking forward to hosting this event and seeing everyone come out for a day of fun, friendly competition, and supporting Tampa Bay’s LGBTQIA+ community!

Huge thank you to @shanepatrickmccabe, host of the @necessarypursuitpodcast, for joining us on The Big Gay Radio Show today!

We talked about the creation of Necessary Pursuit, winning last years @cltampabay Best of the Bay for Best Podcast, and what’s next for the show. We also celebrated the start of LGBTQIA+ History Month, with @esmerussell61 sharing her experience as one of the first transgender students in Hillsborough County.

We also covered @stpetepride’s $289,000 fundraising shortfall, Trump’s latest comments on Iran, JD Vance telling Florida Senate candidate Angie Nixon that she ‘doesn’t belong in America,’ counterfeit Ozempic, a memorial bench found in Bermuda two years after Hurricane Helene, and more.
