Non-scale wins FTW! 🙌🏻

My weighing scale has been showing some disappointing numbers over the last 3bdays, despite me being in a calorie deficit and working out regularly. These kinds of numbers have discouraged me in the past to the point of giving up and falling back into old patterns. I gave the number on the scale far more importance than any work that I was putting in, hence the vicious cycle of gaining and losing the same weight again and again.

The disappointment has been troubling me over the last couple of days, so I’ve listed out some non-scale wins-

1. I can take the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment without getting out of breath!

2. My clothes have started to fit a little differently!

3. As someone who has excruciating menstrual cramps and have heavily relied pain killers to get through the day, this time was far more bearable, much to my surprise!

4. I look forward to going to the gym/ step out for a run and actively shut down any excuses that my mind tries to cook up!

5. Ran my first non-stop kilometer a few days ago!

6. I sleep better at night and am less tired

7. Choosing healthier food options without overthinking it, is becoming my new normal!

8. Decrease in food noise and recognising unhealthy eating patterns vs genuine cravings that can be indulged!

It’s easy to get thrown off when the scale or your body measurements don’t keep up with your expectations. There could be multiple factors causing weight fluctuations. Those numbers should not be the only metric by which we track progress.

The work compounds. Habits compound. The goal right now, is to just show up and stay consistent ✨

✨I ran my first kilometre without stopping!✨

About a month ago, I was barely able to run 100-150 metres without having to slow down and walk. Today, I ran my first non-stop kilometre. Every day that I push myself to exercise or do something difficult, hits me by surprise because I wonder why I didn’t do this sooner.

What I wish I knew in my 20s, that I’ve started to realise as I’m inching my way to 31, is that nobody cares about what you’re doing. Your cheerleaders will cheer, the haters will hate, and the people in between, won’t remember you beyond the split second that you zoom past them, breathing heavy, limbs flailing about lol

So yeah, yay first kilometre of running! Maybe we’re actually good at this and just have to work towards that version of ourselves 🤷🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

✨HYROX Mumbai 2026! ✨

18th September 2026 now holds an entirely different meaning to me. 4 years ago, on this very day, my life changed forever. 4 years later, on the same day, I changed the narrative.
My first ever HYROX, my first ever endurance race. I did an open singles race and finished in 3 hours, 39 minutes and 45 seconds. To most people, this timing may seem laughable, but to me, this meant everything. It showed me that this body, that I spend every day criticising and hating, this body that has been through unimaginable pain and injuries, this body that I have treated so poorly, held me up for almost 4 hours without falling apart.
Fitness was not my thing, consistency and discipline are not things that come easily to me in terms of taking care of myself, which is ironic considering the profession I’m in. My career involves me taking care of people, but directing that care towards myself has been the biggest challenge of my life.
I signed up for the Hyrox with the hope that it would push me to do better for myself, but unfortunately life happened. Burnout, stress, excuses, bad eating, laziness, all of it.
I joined a gym in August, finally, after almost 6 years. The goal was to just start moving, so that I don’t go into Hyrox completely blind.
6 weeks later, in that start tunnel, I couldn’t help but cry because I went from being the girl who was scared to go to the gym because people would stare and judge me, to being at the starting line of one of rhe biggest endurances races to exist today. I was underprepared, untrained and scared, but with one singular purpose, and that was to do something just for myself. Walk it, crawl it, but finish it.
The energy I experienced there, the strength I felt, the cheering and encouragement from other racers, judges and complete strangers in the audience was unparalleled. For the first time, I felt like I belonged.

To sum it up in one word, surreal ✨

This year, the goal was to complete it. Next year, I compete! This is just the beginning 🔥💪🏼

Hyrox Mumbai 2026, you will always have my heart 🫶🏻

I ran (read walked and jogged) my first ever 5k!🏃🏻‍♀️

I turned 30 a few days ago, and everyone kept asking me how I feel or if anything’s changed. I had no answer, barring some jokes at my own expense.

I had signed up for this run a few weeks ago, hoping to motivate myself to move. At the time, it wasn’t working. I was still making excuses.

The day I turned 30, I wanted to celebrate myself in a way that was deeply personal. I got a tattoo I’ve been wanting, and I decided to buy myself an Apple Watch. I thought, what better way to start off using this watch, than this run? I promised myself that if I bought the watch, I’d push myself to go for this run.

This morning, I almost didn’t go. I was really close to giving up. I was scared I wouldn’t finish on time, or that I’d wind up last, or perhaps not even get to the finish line. I reminded myself of the tiny promise and I got out of the house. I was intimidated at first but then, every km down felt like a victory in itself. And at the end of it, something had changed. I wasn’t scared anymore. And I realised, I didn’t have to wait for something to change. I could make the change myself. What was stopping me?

So here’s to starting over. Yet again. But this time, I hope to do better for myself, forgive myself for not taking care of my body, and embracing a change that is long overdue.

Here’s to Day 1 of doing my best 🩵
