In North Malabar, Kerala, Theyyam is a living archive of belief, memory and sacred tradition. For those who practise it, it is not merely a performance but a ritual in which the divine is summoned face-to-face, and the performer is believed to embody the deity for a while.

People gather to be in its presence and leave their troubles there.

Can Man Become God? looks at that meeting: the faith that brings people, and the performance that holds it.

“The rose does not ask where it is offered.”

Every morning, roses are picked in Pushkar. By the afternoon, some are at a temple, and some are at the dargah in Ajmer Sharif, 15 km away.

Ek Gulaab ka Safar follows that journey from the field, to the mandi, to the shrine, and back to the soil.
