A bit of process behind a concept we freestyled a few weeks back hiking in Squamish. The goal was to transfer bark texture onto glass.

Our assumption was bark was flame resistant and the molds could give us a few uses before total failure. Usually we soak wood in water so it doesn’t burn when we attach the glass but for this one we just misted it so we could really get the texture of the wood.

The burn was minimal, meaning each piece would change after each use, giving a piece a unique vibe.

Now that we know how Doug Fir reacts, the next step is to try other bark species and refine the form. Taller pieces + lighting and hardware. by @projectpogo
