POSTS STORIES REELS

The sun sets earlier. The atmosphere colder.
I feel familiar darkness creeping in.

Last winter, I turned seasonal depression into discipline.
I locked in like a madman. Spent plenty of time alone.

Why would this year be different?

The darkness never left. I just learned to weaponize it.

No peace in comfort. No obedience in blood.
Continue to rage. Remain lawless.

Another race. Another finish line. Another result I’ve already convinced myself wasn’t enough.

10 miles. 58:49. 12th / 5,203.

But the best part of my day had nothing to do with the clock.

It was seeing my little girl in her pink coat, that big smile on her face, and those little arms reaching for me. The second I picked her up, everything I’d been chasing faded away.

She didn’t care about my time or where I placed. She was just happy to see her daddy.

I spend so much of my life chasing the feeling of being enough.

And there she was, reminding me I already am. 🤍

15 miles through the Bahamas 🇧🇸 90° and questioning my decisions lmao.

Didn’t wanna run, but the homies were lining up for marathons so I had to get some miles in their honor. Ended up seeing parts of the island that weren’t anywhere on the itinerary. That’s my favorite part of running somewhere new…seeing how far my feet take me.

Love to everybody who raced today. Y’all got me out the door. The heat made sure I regretted leaving at noon 😭

No excuses. No surrender.

First and foremost, thank you to everybody who’s been showing love, supporting the races, checking in, and reminding me why I fell in love with this community in the first place. I don’t take any of it for granted.

5th overall yesterday at The Race here in the A, but I walked away more frustrated than I have from races where I finished much worse.

The result wasn’t really the issue. The race just exposed exactly where I’m at right now.

Over the last few months, my training has been inconsistent. I haven’t stacked enough mileage, I haven’t rebuilt the aerobic strength I had earlier this year, and I’ve still been approaching races with expectations based on what I know I’m capable of at my best.

That works until it doesn’t.

Yesterday I went out aggressively, and by mile 4 or 5 there wasn’t really any mystery left. I wasn’t dealing with bad luck or some freak off day. I simply didn’t have the foundation underneath me to sustain what I was asking for.

That’s a hard thing to accept when you know what being truly fit feels like.

Talent can keep you competitive. It can cover up some bad weeks. It can even give you a decent result on paper.

But it can’t replace months of consistent work.

And lately I’ve been expecting performances from a level of preparation I haven’t been giving myself.

That’s what has to change.

The next step isn’t some magic workout or trying to force another breakthrough. It’s mileage. Aerobic strength. Consistency. Patience. Doing the boring shit long enough for it to show up when it matters.

There’s a big difference between knowing what you’re capable of and being prepared to actually do it.

Time to close that gap. No excuses. No surrender. 🦇

PAIN REPEATS | 4 x MILE 🦇

Some days I can catch the pace.
Some days the pace keeps getting away from me.
Some days I feel smooth. Some days I feel flat.
Some days I show up severely underprepared.

But still the work must get done.

Sessions like this remind me how human I am. Training isn’t always a highlight reel. You won’t always feel sharp, fueled, rested, or ready…so learning how to operate anyway is part of the work. The ugly sessions build something different.

They teach you how to stay composed when the body isn’t cooperating. Even though I definitely had a little trouble keeping my composure between reps 😅. Still I had to adjust when the rhythm isn’t there. Still had to keep moving when the conditions are less than ideal.

Because sometimes, a race will come along and force you to be ready when things are less than ideal. And when that time comes…No excuses. No surrender.

RAGE REPORT | 13 miles of work 🦇

3 miles to warm up → 2 × 3 miles around 6:00 pace with a mile float between → 3 miles to cool down.

The point was to hold a steady effort for longer stretches and practice getting back on pace with miles already in my legs. The float gave me room to recover while keeping moving, then I had to settle back into another 3 miles of work.

First run over 8 miles since Crown the Peach, closing out a 35-mile week. Tryna get my ass back in shape, and that means stacking consistent weeks. Building strength for the PNC 10 Miler and a base I can carry into Boston prep. The Race Half next weekend is another chance to see where I’m at.

Y’all keeping long runs easy or mixing some work into them?

Back in high school we used to say the shorter the shorts, the faster the runner. Had to let people know what they were dealing with before the gun went off. Might have to add more split shorts to the arsenal 😅

Anybody still prefer racing in split shorts over half tights? What y’all lining up in?

Overstimulating Fit Check 😅
Most of my running drip is thrifted or product support. Won these Brooks at a @thepulserunclub event so technically I paid for those in cardio 😭

What expensive piece of running gear you own was worth spending money on?
