When @shahriarsiavash announced a free show by the lake in Richmond Hill, we dropped everything. 🎶

A day with him and @zohrehshahbazy , music in the open air, and Khayyam in our ears the whole time: finding joy even when nothing seems to matter.

Since thou art, be glad. 🌿

Bond Lake, Richmond Hill

Today, Richmond hill sounded like home …

“Since the end of this world is nothingness,
Live as though you were not, and while you are, be happy”

He left a career in iran. he is building a new one in Canada. 🧳✈️

on the day after the closing of montreal jazz festival, 2026, @dariusazar picked the song that sits closest to how he has felt since he arrived.

The song is about separation. about carrying a weight you no longer have the strength to carry. about fearing the loneliness more than what the loneliness might do to you.

The poem is by the legendary Iranian Poet, Saadi of Shiraz, who wrote in in the 13th century. The depth and meaning behind his words stay shockingly relevant today.

You do not need farsi to hear it. The full performance will be posted soon

اجرای کامل به‌زودی منتشر می‌شود. taken in Montreal, Canada by @projectroe

The only way to document a project this big without the headaches is a system that works every time. ✨ Four luxury homes, four timelines, one process holding it all together. @pionova.ca never had to chase us, wonder, or hope it came out right.

During the last days of jazz fest in Montreal,
I stopped by @dariusazar ‘s home.

While the guests mingled, he took a quieter corner to be with his instrument. When I asked if I could film him, he welcomed me in.

Takotook isn’t built by one person. It’s built by all of these people.

The musicians, the volunteers, the friends who carry speakers and the ones who carry the vision. Iranian music in Toronto lives because this community shows up, night after night. People of Takotook, this is your story.
