I’ve been around addiction my entire life. I’ve watched what it can do to people I love, and somewhere along the way I had to acknowledge the ways I’ve struggled with it myself.

Phase 1 was never meant to have all the answers. These two records were simply my outlet, a way for me to speak about something that consumes more of us than we’re willing to admit, and hopefully shine a little light on it.

Addiction doesn’t always look the same.

We all have something.

I wrote this freestyle years ago for my people. For those who gave everything and for those who never made it home. Their sacrifice lives through us. Proud to call myself Eelam Tamil. May 18 forever in our hearts. Gone but never forgotten. We remember. Always. 🕊️ by @prolific_maj
