Eight years ago this week I covered the Planet V Radio Show on Bassdrive. 🌞 I had no idea that covering one show would turn into my very own weekly residency on Bassdrive, one that’s still going strong eight years later. 😎Looking back, it’s incredible to see just how much has changed and how far the show has come.🤘I started broadcasting from home with a Numark DJ controller on Serato and a really basic Sony speaker. From there I moved to the Pioneer XDJ-RX2, borrowed a pair of studio monitors until I blew them up 🫢 and eventually invested in my beautiful KRK Rokits, which have stood the test of time. Today I use the AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ with AIAIAI headphones, thanks to the support of @westend_dj 🔌 The way I share the show has evolved too. What started as a live radio broadcast with Mixcloud replays expanded into simulcasting on TikTok and now continues with weekly YouTube Live streams, helping the show reach new audiences while Bassdrive has remained at its heart. 📡During lockdown, the WuW Crew really came into its own. The launch of the WuW Crew Discord turned regular listeners into a genuine community, with people from around the world sharing music, chatting and supporting one another. 🫶Today, that community spans more than 40,000 people across Bassdrive, streaming platforms and social media. 🚀 Eight years on, the technology has changed, the audience has grown, but the reason I do it hasn’t. 🙌Every Wednesday is still about discovering great music, supporting artists and labels, and sharing my passion for Drum & Bass. 💜A huge thank you to Bassdrive, V Recordings, everyone who’s been part of the WuW Crew, everyone who’s contributed guest mixes and host takeovers over the years, and everyone who’s tuned in week after week. Whether you’ve been listening since 2018 or you’ve only just found the show, thank you for being part of the journey. ☺️I’ll see you all on Wednesday as we celebrate eight years on Bassdrive together.
