Teaching your dog to retrieve 🐾

One way to get started – small steps, lots of patience:
1️⃣ Get your dog interested in the dummy through play
2️⃣ Encourage them to hold it in their mouth
3️⃣ Add short distances step by step
4️⃣ Reward every successful retrieve

Setbacks are totally normal – every dog learns differently, and this is just one of many ways to teach it. 💪

Why do dogs retrieve? 🐾

Retrieving isn't just a fun game – it goes back to the original purpose of many breeds. Hunting dogs were bred to find and bring back game, undamaged and on command. Today, it's become one of the most popular training exercises for dogs of all kinds.

Why it's worth training:
✔️ Builds focus and impulse control
✔️ Strengthens the bond between dog and handler
✔️ Provides mental and physical exercise
✔️ Works with any breed – not just hunting dogs

Whether for basic obedience, dog sports, or just for fun – retrieving is a great way to challenge your dog. 🐕
