The architect Luigi Moretti illustrated the idea of interior space as a volume. Moretti created models of the interiors of temples and basilicas as a solid form, completely free of constructions. Conversion of the void into a solid body. by @propaedeutics

Jørn Utzon, Fredensborg houses

Built in 1959 and in 1963 respectively, the Kingo and Fredensborg houses share one same system of organic growth based on the repetition of the same residential type. In both cases, the main idea is to combine the privacy of domestic life – through individual courtyards – and community life, through shared green spaces, streets, and plazas. In this way, neighbors enjoy the sensation of living in nature while being part of a larger urbanized area. The basic housing unit adopts the universal scheme of the courtyard house, with two L-shaped wings for living spaces and a square-shaped garden. Though the geometry is strictly orthogonal, the system is organic because it has the capacity to grow, within each cell in particular as well as within the whole.

Adolf Loos' iconic construction, the Müller Villa. It is built according to purist principles and is extremely successful both technically and artistically.

The building had a revolutionary appearance for its time. It was shaped like a conventional cube, but it was notable for its emotionality, thanks to the successful composition of the yellow windows and the search for overall proportions.

Adolphe Loos was a professional architect. In this villa he realized his concept of Raumplan, the essence of which is that inside the building creates an interesting spatial labyrinth, due to the different configuration of the rooms, while outside it is a single volume, looking at you can not read the layout.

"For me, there's no first floor, second floor, etc. etc. For me there are only contiguous, continuous spaces, rooms, hallways, terraces..." "...Stories merge and spaces are connected."

The design develops a landscape aspect. The building stands on a plot of land with a drop of 11 meters, which had a positive impact on the development of complex spaces inside the house. There are key views of Prague from the windows. The largest window looks out over a clear landscape in the direction of the city center.

A mistake was made in laying the foundation. Loos had to adapt the plan. But it was struggling with such complications that taught him to hone his form in the process. The building was able to take on the prints of spontaneity.

It is a shindel roof. The shindel is a wooden dormer roof characteristic of the architecture of the Czech Republic, the Carpathian Mountains in Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania and Poland.

Photo was taken somewhere in Czech Republic.

Sri Lanka

In this hill and under this old vase, Geoffrey Bawa is buried. On his grave the sun fries and hefty and biting ants crawl. Geoffrey is dead, but beauty remains. On that we stand and we will stand.
