Regular viewers of my stories have seen that the @militaryaviationmuseum recently rearranged their impressive Soviet Air Force collection. This provided a rare opportunity to see aircraft such as this Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 outside for the first time in over a decade. Restoration quality and hard to find parts have kept these birds as static displays for years but they are well taken care of.
You can now view them alongside their Luftwaffe foes in the museum’s original Luftwaffe hangar that was reassembled onsite, now called the eastern front hangar.

The @militaryaviationmuseum’s original Focke-Wulf FW-190A8 “Blue 4” in the German Cottbus Hangar. Very much a Frankenstein restoration, this 190 was shot down in Norway by an RAF P-51 in 1945, and was partially restored to static condition with parts from several other wrecks.
The hangar it sits in was built in the 1930s in Cottbus, Germany and was used by the Luftwaffe, and later the Soviets during the Cold War before, being reassembled at the museum in the mid-2010s.

@warbirdthunderairshows in their North American SNJ Texans at Oceana 2026.
Fun fact: the lead pilot flies a rare SNJ-2 variant. Only 61 were built and about 10 examples still exist. You can tell by the different shaped rudder and belly pod.
