🎤 CHICANO RAP CHAPTER #10 🎤

🎵 Tema: Tales From The West Side

Throwback to the rare “Mexican Power“ & “One Summer Night“ ORIGINAL VERSION on BIG CHILL RECORDS. The Proper Dos's first professionally recorded single, pressed on 12” and cassettes with the Mexican Flag, limited to just a few hundred copies. This original version of Mexican Power incorporated “More Bounce to the Ounce“ by Zapp & Roger, later re-recorded in a popular version. Recorded around early 1990 at Paramount Recording Studios in Hollywood, CA. A real blast from the past! #photography by @jaywestgb 📸 When Ernie G and Conejo come together, the results are nothing short of seismic. Our collaborations didn’t just document the culture 🌇 they encoded it. There was an unspoken chemistry, as if the music was forged for the streets long before it ever hit a studio. Every time we crossed paths, something raw and undeniable emerged, layered with tension, truth, and intent.

For me, working alongside Ernie G has been a blessed journey 💯 one built on loyalty, instinct, and a shared understanding that some sounds aren’t created, they’re summoned. There’s always been an air of mystery around the work, like messages moving through the shadows, meant only for those who know how to listen.
