Kasumigaseki Properties Development plans to develop its own projects in the UAE, extending Kasumigaseki Capital’s presence beyond real estate investment.

Its approach centres on quality, peace of mind and purposeful innovation, with details of its first UAE development due soon.

The company says each project starts with a study of its site, future residents and the need it must address, before design, materials and technology are chosen. After-sales support will continue beyond handover.

Tatsuya Suzuki, CEO of Kasumigaseki Properties Development, said: “Investing in a building and creating one carry very different responsibilities. As investors, we assessed the work of others. As a developer, every detail is ours to answer for, from the first drawing to handover and every year that follows. We are taking that on in the United Arab Emirates because we believe buyers here are ready to expect it from every developer, and we intend to be the one that delivers it.”

Mohamed Alabbar (@mohamedalabbar) has outlined plans for between $16 billion and $17 billion in real estate and tourism investment in Syria, with major developments planned in Damascus and Latakia.

He disclosed the plans at RISE Summit 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre on 14 October. Reuters identified Eagle Hills (@eaglehillsuae), the company he founded and chairs, as the developer behind the planned investment. Alabbar is also founder and managing director of Emaar Properties (@emaardubai).

Alabbar said: “The planned investments in Syria would range between $16 billion and $17 billion.”

He said investment decisions should be grounded in commercial feasibility, economic development and social responsibility, with job creation, local business activity and broader economic contribution extending beyond property development. Some major projects can take as long as two decades, making transparency and relationships with local communities important.

In the same session, Alabbar said Emaar’s real estate sales backlog stood at approximately $40.8 billion (AED150 billion). The company typically sells around 4,000 units a month, while cancellations had fallen below 600 after rising to around 1,200 during a period of regional tension.

He said Emaar maintains consistent pricing rather than introducing steep discounts or changing payment terms during slower periods, to maintain confidence among existing buyers.

Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aldar, said: “Sharjah is a large and growing residential market, and Aljada provides an attractive entry point through one of the emirate’s leading master-planned communities.”

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Arada, said: “This transaction is a strong vote of confidence in both Aljada and the Sharjah residential market more broadly.”

The nine buildings are expected to cater mainly to end-users and long-term renters once completed. Aljada spans approximately 2.2 million sq m and is planned to contain around 25,000 homes at full build-out.

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is preparing to open on December 11, 2026, bringing one of the world's most anticipated museum projects to Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi.
⠀
In this Property News International feature, we take a closer look at the architecture of the late Frank Gehry, whose design combines monumental sculptural forms with elements inspired by the UAE's traditional wind towers.
⠀
The museum's distinctive silhouette is defined by 10 towering cones reaching up to 88 meters, designed to provide shade and help circulate air through the building's courtyards and terraces. The complex will include approximately 11,600 square meters of indoor exhibition space and a further 23,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition areas.
⠀
Developed by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the project brings together an international architecture and construction team. Gehry Partners led the architectural design, with Adamson Associates involved as executive architect during the early design stages.
⠀
The main construction contract was awarded to a joint venture between Six Construct, part of BESIX Group, and Trojan General Contracting.
⠀
The museum will focus on global modern and contemporary art, with particular attention to artistic practices from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia. Its opening program will also include an exhibition exploring Frank Gehry's design process through original sketches, models, and archival materials.
⠀
Watch the full video for a closer look at the museum's architecture, construction, and the teams behind one of Abu Dhabi's major new cultural landmarks.
