Renee writes:

"These drawings evolve out of a series of moments: the body crossing from one form to another, the I (first-person pronoun) traversing the sentence, space going dark then re-illuminating with non-visible forms, where in roams the relocated I, the I from yesterday, the broken I from this morning. The math opens the point of contact, says I am writing. I am sitting in the world and writing. The math is where fiction breaks open to the essay, which itself has already opened to a fugitive non-knowing. Drawing makes a choreography of the unknown, makes a math for the future.”

I’m excited to support Latitude, a nonprofit community digital lab and artist residency in Chicago. These are four drawings from ONE LONG BLACK SENTENCE re-composed and printed by @bbbingaaa and @latitudechi . This and many other gorgeous prints are available at their web store through 12/15. I think for a while it will be impossible to feel okay being in this world without Lyn Hejinian’s fierce, elegant and welcoming brilliance. She made bridges between people and between books and between theories and generations and movements like none other. I owe so much to her. Have been shaped so much by her. Know so many people because of her. Today I’ve been pulling all the books from the shelves that she wrote, published of others, blurbed. I want to photograph them all. There are so many. These are the first few. Thank you, Lyn. Miss you. by @prosearchitectures

My lesbian novel, which also happens to be called MY LESBIAN NOVEL, is done! It’s a work of fiction and autobiography in the shape of an interview. I started this one in 2017 and wrote about 20 pages then got flung out of it for some reason. Six years later, I pulled the printed pages out of a bag I’d randomly stored them in and when I looked at the writing I felt ready, like I’d just at that moment become the person I needed to be to finish this book. It’s also the longest book I’ve written, which, conventionally, is not very long at all. 🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾 by @prosearchitectures
