On February 15, our community attempted to pass the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism. After 5 hours of public comment and 3 hours of discussion with the Senate, the meeting concluded at 3 AM with majority of the Senate class voting in favor of tabling the resolution indefinitely.

After almost 3 months of working closely with my fellow colleagues and the respective communities, I have worked tirelessly to find a way to bring justice to my community who was left feeling silenced and unheard at this meeting.

Antisemitism is a rising disease around the world and has been shown to be a prominent issue on our campus. After long months of hard work and never giving up on the importance of this resolution, we have finally passed the working definition of antisemitism at UC Berkeley. I am beyond thankful for my community and all the hard work that has been put in to finally make this a reality. This means so much to Jewish students at Cal and I am so proud we got to accomplish it during my term.

We are SUPER excited to announce that Senate Resolution 84: Reforming ASUC Elections, Coalitions, Parties passed unanimously last night💪🏼 After long hours of hard work, we were able to come up with a great starting point for elections, coalitions, and parties reform!
