JULY THEME ANNOUCEMENT: HOLES 🕳️

As voted on at our last meeting (and as a returning contender from last month), the theme for the next issue will be HOLES.

Whether it’s the beloved children’s movie/book, wasp nests, tunnels underground, anything you can think of. At risk of triggering anyone’s trypophobia, here are some holes in space.

See ya tomorrow at NW lucky lab!!!! by @prosetopia

Welcome to PROSETOPIA! ☆ A creative writing group for the writers who aren’t writing and the creatives who aren’t creating. A casual place to meet up and work on a project, together!
THE TIME: Wednesdays at 7pm, starting on April
Fools day. Not kidding.
THE PLACE: Lucky Lab in NW Portland
THE PLAN: To curate a monthly zine surrounding a theme, voted on in our first meeting. Each month, we’ll meet up to present and critique our work in a group, much like a creative writing workshop. Your task is to create a poem, essay, fictional story, comic, collage, photo, drawing—— anything that doesn’t require an audio or video file basically. The only requirement is that it is your interpretation of said theme. At the end of the month, we’ll compile our work together and celebrate all that we have accomplished! prosetopia is what we make of it ☆ prosetopia is for everyone! by @prosetopia

A RETURN TO PIG/S 🐽 (+ MEETING TONIGHT!!!!)

As we work on pieces for our next issue, we return to the old. For PIG/S, Kendall Porter wrote a short story about a decaying friendship, falling apart in the local hog bar.

A RETURN TO PIG/S 🐽

As we work on pieces for our next issue, we return to the old. For PIG/S, graphic design wiz Isaac Boger crafted a set of pig-centric designs and factoids (alongside the cover!!!). Try to keep these in mind while reading.

A RETURN TO PIG/S 🐽

As we work on pieces for our next issue, we return to the old. For PIG/S, Emerson Brady interviewed famous pig-lebrity and friend of the zine Jimmy Dean. He might be hiding something from us, but we’ll never really get to the bottom of the muck…

If you haven’t gotten the email yet, there is no meeting tonight!! Emerson is in NYC for the summer and Kendall is in California visiting grandparents.

The final version of baptism is COMPLETE!!! And will be posted very soon 🫢 but printing will be delayed for the summer to adjust for only having one of us :(

join next week for our critique session!!! Luckily, we’re oh so lucky to be blessed with five Wednesdays this month, so we will try to stay business as usual with the schedule!!! 🕳️ by @prosetopia

A RETURN TO PIG/S 🐽

As we work on pieces for our next issue, we return to the old. For PIG/S, writer Ella Hutcherson wrote a fictional short story about a wedding party (and relationship) gone awry. Here’s just a tidbit of the intro, but the rest is worth the read. Alex Homer illustrated the perfect pig to pair with it!

This Wednesday is our BAPTISM PARTY, and we are turning up. We are holding the issue release at Paymaster Lounge in NW. Dress like you’re attending a baptism! 😇👼

We will have prints of BUBBLE, PIG/S, and perhaps a preview copy of BAPTISM. I am gonna bring cards. Bring yourself. Bring your friends. Wear your Sunday best. Who knows... maybe we’ll baptize someone. We will also be voting on a theme so start brainstorming... by @prosetopia
