⚠️I’ll keep it brief as possible- Most who see this video know me, and my intentions. I’m not trying to be rude, or judgmental to any of the awesome parents in our community getting their kids into the sport I’ve lived and breathed daily for the last 17 years. As head coach at the NFC, I didn’t originally want to teach kids, I like working with pros, and competitive adults. We started a kids program because of the horror stories we witnessed or heard about firsthand from parents in the area at other gyms. I’m not going to get into details or bash on anyone specificly, I think most coaches have good intentions.

What I will say is: if your kids’ coach doesn’t know your child’s name, or age, or personality; if they don’t assign them the right partners, give them 1 on 1 attention and thoughtful feedback, if they don’t give them rounds like this one I’m giving one of our 110 kids (and yes, I know all of their names, personalities, and I roll SAFELY with each and every one of them…) if this isn’t the case for your kid at your current gym, then you’re paying for babysitting- not training. If that’s what you want, then continue on, there is a place for that for sure, and it’s still a net positive thing for our community.

But if you want your kid to receive the right instruction, proper and effective and MODERN techniques and actually succeed in this sport and all it has to offer, consider having a serious talk with their coach, and holding them accountable. Or find a gym like mine that has 15 incredible assistant coaches and (yours truly) a solid head coach for your kids. I love the Yuba community, love seeing jiujitsu progress and become a normal sport around here, but we can do better. 🖤👊🏼 by @prosserstriking

I’ve lost almost 100 lbs TWICE in my life.
I was 260 in high school and got down to 180. Then a bad car accident messed up my back / hip.
(which is why I started training)
Ballooned up to 275. Got down to 179 in this pic. (Went 220 - 200 after endless injuries.)
About 235 now. 🐷🐷🐷
Fat as hell! Happy as it gets!
Retired!
Still beating you up! 😜
Lifting weights sucks! Running sucks!
My whole 20’s was “fight camp”….
I paid the cost the be the boss. 😎🤙🏼

Today, @kels.jitsu and I awarded some of our @norcalfitnesscoop_youth kids’ class with their first official rankings! Alongside our supporting coaches, we had the privilege of acknowledging these amazing kids and their accomplishments on the mats! These kids have been working so hard, and all of them have become more respectful, more resilient, and more confident because of what we do in here every day! This is just the beginning, keep it up. 🤙🏽 by @prosserstriking

@ethan_mote held it down for the squad tonight in his first fight! Dominant performance!
