PRTC 💜 NYC × RETRO°FUTURism

SALUTE 🫡 TO A NEW YORK ICON.

Some people document New York.

Some people ARE part of the history they document.

Big salute to Shadi Perez — Photographer, Videographer, Director, and longtime visual documentarian of NYC culture.

From the ’90s to now, Shadi has captured the worlds of Supreme, Stüssy, skate culture, hip-hop, fashion, music videos and the people who helped shape downtown New York. His work has included Supreme’s early imagery and photography connected to artists including Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, A Tribe Called Quest and The Beastie Boys.

And for me, this one is personal.

I've known Shadi since my days working around SUPREME, Stüssy and Union — back when NYC culture was being built in real time.

No big ego.
No unnecessary noise.
Just another humble NYC original who has been putting in the work for decades.

That's the kind of person PRTC 💜 NYC and RETRO°FUTURism will always salute.

THE FUTURE REMEMBERS WHERE IT CAME FROM.

🫡 SALUTE, SHADI.
📸🎥 Thank you for documenting the culture.

💜 THE FUTURE REMEMBERS WHERE IT CAME FROM.

We’re stepping into a new dimension of PROTOCOL >> NYC : MEGA × BYTES [ MB ] — and this time, we’re bringing FASHION into the conversation.

We were incredibly lucky to sit down with the beautiful Shyla Smith — a rising model, artist, and creative whose presence is already making an impression. ✨

This is our FIRST interview with a model, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to open the door.

From her artistry to her growing career, Shyla is one to watch. And NYC… get ready. 🗽

🎥 In this reel, we’re giving you a look at her NYFW runway moment in Times Square — just a glimpse of what’s ahead.

This is only the beginning.

More artists.
More models.
More creatives.
More NYC voices.
More BYTES. 💜

And now we want to hear from YOU.
